April 15, WT: Education, personal fulfillment leads to spiritual death
by truthseeker inthe 2nd study article, "let your hands be strong", is very pointed to say the least.
it seems that many dubs are finding personal fulfillment outside the kingdom hall, and this is clearly a sin leading to spiritual death.. i leave blondie to do the full review, just some interesting comments... .
pg 27, paragraph 11 .

Meeting Clothes
by Nosferatu ini absolutely hated the concept of "meeting clothes".
all my meeting clothes were hand-me-downs from other brothers.
i always hated getting hand-me-downs from the fat jw kids who were older than me.

Always bought new suits often and still do. Never had a clothing problem.

Do you look better or worse
by pratt1 inthe other day i was looking at some old photos of my wife as a young witless teen.
several of the pictures were taking at assemblies and gatherings/weddings.. what amazed me is that she looks better today than she did as a witless teen or early twenties.
i don't mean just the expression on her face, but also the way she was dressed.

My wife and I have been out for over 25 years now. Just the other day a mutual friend was asked by a dub, do you think they are truly happy. Our friend told them that we have never been happier, and it is true.

HELP PLEASE---family emergency
by apostlestate inthis is my first time ever participating in any discussion with ex -witnesses ever, and it's long overdue.
i discovered the real truth about 6 years ago with the aid of websites like this (cannot contain my gratefulness), now i am stepping into your world and it feels right.
my family runs four generations deep in witness muck,my great-grandmother was the oldest living pioneer in our region for what seemed like forever, three of my great-grandparents were "anointed",my grandfather hobnobbed with the governing body, etc.,etc.

What made us different?
by Lo-ru-hamah ini am wondering, what made all of us different?
to explain.
obviously most all of us here were at one time brainwashed and endoctrinated with the rest of the rank and file of jw's.

For me it started with my work in home maintenance. I had a number of sweet little old ladies as customers. These people were religious and were so good to us. They would make sandwiches or offer us cold drinks, and really show sincere concern for our well being. I thought they were far more righteous than I could ever hope to be. Why would a loving god destroy them if they were not JW. It really made me assess my beliefs. That is when I started having doubts, and it grew from there.
