by steve2 inwith the official letter from the gb to all bodies of elders, a stylized jw.org banner can now be appended to kingdom hall signage.. what an auspicious year this will turn out to be for the organization!!.
among other outcomes, the "link" with the old, baggage-ridden "watchtower bible & tract society" recedes into the background.
furthermore, now you don't pretend to need feet trudging door-to-door - your worker is done at the press of a few directed fingers.

Pixar the production company is jealous of Caleb and Sophia video's
by life is to short inso said the co last night.. apparently a jw was on a flight and just happend to sit next to some big wig from pixar and when the man from pixar heard that he was a jw the pixar man just gushed over what great work that the watchtower has done in producing the caleb video's.
he siad he only wished pixar could do such great work.
the co said we are able to do it because we have free labor and jehovah behind us.. my husband stayed home from the meeting but wanted to tie in by phone and that is what the co said in his talk.. the co also talked about all the changes that have happened in the last ten years and how if some of the friends did not like it they needed and to quote him "they just needed to get over it" these changes are going to happned period.

Would you do this to your kids? Is this cold or am I crazy?
by BU2B inmy mentally in jw wife is trying to organize a "princess party" for my 4 year old daughter and her little cousins and friends.
she was looking at prices of a tent for the backyard party in case it rains.
she asked the hardware store how much and they said 90 dollars for the day.

His own grandaughter, and he won't provide a tent for her party? What an a-hole! Rent from the store. It has insurance in case the tent malfunctions.
He tries to extract as much money as he can from those around him. He's an extractor, when it comes to financial transactions. I bet he'd be a moocher if the tables were turned and you were offering something for free. It's a sign of someone who is very self-centered.

Dad called on my birthday

i'm beyond caring about birthdays (i'm 51) but my dad, who is a non-jw married to my crazy jw mother, usually doesn't acknowledge us kids on our birthdays so as not to piss off my mom.
actually, he has never acknowledged my birthday.

by stuckinarut2 inperhaps this should be in the humor /jokes section....but oh well...here goes.. (some of our more tech savy forum members may know to upload images to help out?).

or as some tacky gifts as handed out at the international conventions?.

(But are from Awake University, Ass-ociates Degree in the True Christian Religion, with the name and baptism date on it)
Birth certificates that have the date you were baptised into the Truth with the elders who baptised you, signature.

Not really merchandise, but a new form of theocratic warfar. JW.org gives out a computer virus that goes onto any computer that visits jw.org. The virus blocks all apostate websites, sends back critical financial information to the Borg (for the new tithing arrangment, of course), and downloads acceptable, 'clean' porn videos.

Is is right to leave your job for the WT? In an assembly interview
by skin inwe had an assembly part here 6 months ago where a sister was interviewed by the co because she left her job to do more wt work, she talked about some jobs that she had recently been offered with good pay but turned these down.
most listening to this is would be thinking that this sister is being blessed by jehovah for taking this stand, how much faith she has to do this and what can we do personally with our own jobs, made me almost feel guilty for having a job.
anyway come forward 6 months to now, this family has had to move to another region because the husband couldnt find enough work to support his family here.

most people, i believe, forced themselves to give an answer.
i knew many elders and servants over the years being counseled because they rarely answered.. funny thing....my mom who is 88 cries if she doesn't give a comment.

I liked commenting! I was a good little school kid, and did well in school. Answering a question or two at the meetings was easy. The correct answer was right above. It was easier than schoolwork. And, my mom always smiled when I did answer. Theocratic school was a breeze too. Everything was laid out for you. No thinking needed. But, door to door I HATED. Was scared that I'd see a schoolmate. And, then I realized that the lessons were very flawed. Not only did I not answer, I stopped attending at about 16 years old.

It's hot over there right now. And, when it's hot, tempers get shorter.
Look at Ireland and England. Not the same country, but they are pracitally the same. Needless, terrible bombing in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Best thing about September 11th, is that Ireland and England calmed down. What's that Beth Midler song, "God is watching us . . . from a distance. . . we all look the same." I'm not sure of all the politics, but it seems that they (Irish Rebel Forces) realized it was silly to bomb.
It seems that the people we are closest to is who we pick fights with. You should live in my neighborhood! Neighbors fighting with neighbors over stupid sh*t.
