  Ridiculous New System Ideas

  - everybody's living room has a view to the distant snow-capped mountains, uninhibited by the neighbour's ugly tudor that he knocked together at least forty five millennia ago and wouldn't you think he'd have painted the gables by now?.

  - they all visit their friends walking over the unfenced meadows carrying baskets of fruit.

  By the way - I have always wondered if Johann Sebastian Bach would be brought back? Great composer, but of couse he was kind of attached to Babylon the Great...But then, maybe he was of the faithful and discreet slave & annointed back in the old days-

  So, if he is in heaven, then us music student apostates will just have to make do with his relatives Carl Phillip Emmanual and the niece Anna Magdelena?

  Hindsight is 20/20: What were your signs?

  what i mean is now that you are out of the wt; do you ever think back at something you innocently said or did when you still believed or you were little that now feels like a sign that you would someday get out of the bullsh*t?

  for me, growing up in the jw's, i feel there were signs of my "goat hairs" even way back then.

  ** even as a child, every saturday morning i would spend at least 10 or 15 minutes trying to figure out what to say to get out of going to field service .

  At the age of 11 or 12 years, when the JWs were "study-ing" with my parents, I got told I could no longer watch the classic B&W TV drama "Combat". It was "worldly" and it "celebrated war".

  O-Well - I still had Perry Mason, WhirlyBirds, SeaHunt, and Route66.

  much has been made over possible motives behind the watchtower society joining the un/dpi.

  my response is currently the same as it was in my first letter to them, "who cares why [they] did it?

  " really, this matter is so simple it can be summed up by answering two teensy little questions:.

  A: There was nothing at all wrong with being an NGO or using the Library in the first place. If it could help third world people, why not?

  B. The actual "wrong part" was the hypocrisy of bitching about the scarlet harlot all these years and going and doing this in secret.

  U.N. Scandal Clarfications Please.

  since i joined the forum a short while ago i was confronted by the above scandal, hadn't known about it , haven't been in touch with anything to do with the org for a while.

  so i've read all the posts and questions and i think iget the drift, but what i want to kno now is why did they do it?

  i hear their excuse of the library card, but that's obviously a load of tosh.

  A lot of them probably think 1914 was a great success, because WW1 started that year! Seriously, I have heard this mentioned many times in support of that date.

  Failing to note, of course, that they did NOT prophecy a 4-year long European war but rather the end of the world!

  Also failing to care that the much more significant WW2 started in 1939 and they failed to even give a clue as to that...and that about the only war connection with 1975 was the end of the Vietnamese war.

  Hi Nicolau -

  Noticed with great interest that you have read Pascal. I liked him as a mathematician but his religious writings leave me completely cold. They sound (to me) more like a drug or disease induced rant than anything else. I don't think he produced anything scientific after giving in to this religious frenzy.

  Wonder what his pal Fermat thought about his pathetic later years?

  Isn't this the Adam & Eve question all over again? Would you rather have your eyes wide open and know when you are naked, or go around like babbling idiot robots for all eternity?

  Lets say you believe this stuff and also believe in the possibility of life on other planets...wonder if this scenario has been repeated in this or other galaxies? Maybe some Adam & Eve alien planet people didn't eat the apple and are living this out now. Or, maybe some other planet did not have their chronology tied to some stupid pyramid and they are in the middle of the GTrib or even thousands of years into paradise? Do you suppose that the "good" Adam & Eves are ever going to get told the story of "bad" Adam & Eve here on earth? Or, would that spoil their virginity?

  Terrible thought, eh? Maybe this whole vale of suffering because of original sin has been repeated millions of times throughout the universe! Not to mention the horrific "new worlds" that could exist!

  ...then jesus lied about how to identify the false prophets.. ...then jesus lied about the sign of his presence and of the conclusion of the system of things.. ...then the watchtower bible and tract society disassociated itself from true christianity through a repeated lack of neutrality.. ...then i will happily die at armageddon knowing i stood up against a god who supported a deceitful earthly corporation as his own.. but, i am not afraid they are right.

  Star, did you really mean that ( both Russell and Ray Franz had the spirit ) ??? Or, am I missing your sense of humor?

  To me, Russell was practically as malevolent as Rutherford and twice as crazy. He copied nutcase beliefs from the Seventh Day Adventists after those very prophecies failed, then made up his own failed prophesies. This is the root cause of all the crappola chronology, the Judge just added on to it. We had a thread a while back on who was worse, C.T. or the Judge. Russell had a number of personal issues as well.

  I'll put it this way...Who said Jesus would come in 1914 first? - and - Who is buried beside a pyramid?
