  i just want to go over a couple of topics on my mind and see what you guys all think about it.

  i've noticed recently the new change in the blood doctrine and, to me, i interpreted this as the society's way of finally acknowledging the fact that the teaching is too difficult to maintain.

  this is like putting a small crack in a submarine so that the water doesn't come rushing in causing people to panic, but with time the ship will still sink.

  One more post paragraph like that first one, and you will have a plethora of volunteers to help you with the formatting thing.

  On my computadora, it works just fine when you hit the carriage return a couple of times after every third or fourth sentence.

  Excellent logic, though. I agree that blood fractions is one of the first little cracks in the feet of the beast idol. Wonder if maybe the end of the "generation" and the "seven thousand year creative day" was not also a "sign of the times"?

  And now, we have the Sept 1 "Awake" on Evolution - can this one actually be saying that "little tiny evolution steps are OK", but we still want to insist on "intelligent creation" primarily?

  If we are talking about the same video, this comes up from time to time on my Ferrari website.

  It is thought that the actual car was a 1969 era Mercedes 6.3 litre 4-door sedan. The reality was that the camera was mounted on the front bumper in a massive welded steel frame and the speeds never went above the "majic tonne".

  Myth busted.l IMHO

  What book or movie most resembles the WTS in your opinion? Why?

  i've seen where some former jws compare the wts to certain movies or books (such as the village and 1984).

  i just wondered what movies or books reminded you of the wts and why?

  did you draw this conclusion before or after you left the organization?

  Are they at it again...shockin announcement September

  we posted about an announcement it was only local to our cong.

  however we have found out that there is going to be an announcement sometime in september and it is supposed to be shocking.

  My best bet is that the "big news" was this ridiculous evolution "Awake" and everybody needs to go out and "publish" it.

  I don't think they have anybody there who can come up with new dogma world end prophecy anymore.

  my first post.

  i'm new posting, but i feel like i now everybody here since i have been reading this forum since last year.

  ok. to the thing: i would like to know if somebody here has a copy of the watchtower april 15, 1928 page 162, where it talks about that the bible has mistakes.

  Great post! - Notice that the WT scan specifically calls it "selling" WT literature.

  It also says, "we are not to be standing there preaching or trying to impart bible knowledge - just get those books into their hands!"

  At least 1928 was a time of relative honesy on these matters...

  i think some people actually use part of their real name.

  i chose mine because i really feel 'in between', in that space where your not a jw anymore but really haven't figured out where you are in life and what path you want to take.

  just thought it would be an interesting topic.

  I used my real name because it had been over 25 years ago that I left. I felt like it was about time to show that I am not under their system of reality anymore and have nothing at all to hide from them. As it turned out, there were several here who knew who I was and I was glad we got in contact.

  I also willingly took the risk of being compared to that movie actor by the same name that takes all those "mad-dog killer" parts.

  I am not him. My face is too honest to play that kind of role.

  yesterday something happened that really pissed me off.

  i was walking out of a store that has two doors you have to walk through... the inner door and the outer door.

  basically a small foyer.. as i'm going through the inner door i notice a woman is behind be so i go on through and hold the door for her... she went right on through without a word and then went through the outer door, pushed it open and then let it fly back into my face.

  VERY IMPORTANT BBQ QUESTION

  to all you experts (men of course) .

  we have a gas bbq fitted with a lid, now i think the food should be cooked with the lid open cos i think with it shut , it just steams the food.

  my hubby insists it should be kept closed when cooking cos it loses the heat.

  Agree, hood down. Although a real Texas BBQ cook would not be using gas. Charcoal only, and no lighter fluid. Use one of those chimney starters. Mesquite optional, I am a hickory charcoal man myself.

  With apologies to Hank Hill and his cartoon guys at the propane supply.

  I read this with some interest. I did the same thing way back in the early 80's.

  It was a sort of feeling - "OK, now I have studied this stuff enough to know where it went wrong. Now I just want rid of this crap."

  It did help to make the symbolic effort to just toss it into the trash. I also was thinking "I don't really want my non-witness new social friends to see this literature around my house."

  And this from a person who likes books a lot, and you will hardly ever see me throw one away.
