New Light at DC?
by zack inthe gb will announce in a series of talks in two symsposiums that:.
all anointed will die and depart the earthly scene before armageddon.. the resurrected anointed will aid christ in directing all his belongings from heaven.. christ said "i will be with you until the conclusion of the systems of things" and he has done so invisibly; and shortly.
shall come the time for his co-rulers to be gathered to him to rule (just as christ has) invisibly.

I have been to only one meeting and one Memorial in 7.5 years, and I don't consider this new light.
I don't ever recall anything being said contrary to this while I was deeply in (1990-9)
Unless it just made sense to me in the 90s, and I was "ahead of the chariot." -

Is there a DF cut off point
by fringe dweller indoes anyone know if there is a set time period after which a baptised witness, who has ceased attending meetings or having any association with the congregation, can begin living openly as a non-witness (living with a partner while not married) without incurring the punishment of disfellowhipping?
if so, can you direct me to printed 'proof' of the wts edict in this regard.
i completely withdrew from the society about 6 years ago and have left the town i lived in whilst i was active, but i have family members who are still witnesses and i don't want to risk being formally 'banned' from associating with them on the rare occasions that we see each other.

Yeah, unless you DA, then there is no statute of limitations, so to speak.

My Bethel Experience part 8
by new boy inwell it is 4:00 a.m. in the morning and i can't sleep, so might has well write.. everything at bethel is seniority........"how long have you been here?
" if you wanted a better room you need some seniority, rooms would go up on a bid system.
if you were a new boy, and all your friends were new boys, it could be a year or two before you got a decent room and 10 years to get a room with its own bathroom, pre towers days.

I thought my friends who went to Bethel made that name up recently. I guess it's been around for decades. -

XJW Meetups: They're not singles bars, dammit.
by ColdRedRain inok, i just had to vent.
i found out somebody in our local minneapolis/saint paul meetup has been harassing one of our meetup attendees.
this person has been getting multiple phone calls from this person even though they've been told in a gentle way "i'm not interested, back off, you're old enough to be my dad.

How I sent my letter
by truthsetsonefree innow that some time has passed i can say how i made my protest to watchtower.
i mailed that letter using the "special blue" envelopes used only for judicial correspondence.
so i know that it did not go through the usual channels for correspondence.

Kenny Drew On Modern Black American Popular Music.
by hillary_step inkenny drew jnr.
is the son of the great jazz pianist, now deceased.
his own accomplishments are rich and varied, playing with some of the greatest names in modern jazz and also entering the world of the classical piano with the same success that he has met in the jazz world.. he published a stinging criticism of the 'rap' music idiom, taking bold side-swipes at the true culprits, the record companies on his web site.

hilary step:
Here's a better rap:
No political solution –
all I see is confusion.
Racists, they race to judgment
Can’t resist the mind pollution.
Crimes against man, by man,
even a child can
commit the heinous, maim us;
out of the mouths of babes –
words came to certainly defame us.
Critical commentary, scary – nonetheless.
We confess. No end in sight.
No rapper’s delight in the dark message
of imperial might
and excess.
Disillusioned, Disenfranchised,
just plain dissed by myriad lies
No compromise in sight
and finally, I realize:
There is no political solution.
Sensed that disturbance
in my force,
and rejected
that power so dark,
and that life too hectic.
Salvation eternal
does not lie with man:
their hearts infernal,
burning with sin.
Ages of evil deeds
yield justification,
and water the divine seeds
of our condemnation.
Spiritual –
hopefully habitual
in attendance.
Endlessly hoping
for the promised ascendance.
not Transcendental,
but most definitely mental.
There is no political solution. -

Example of an argument:
Rap is a modern adaptation of talking blues, which was first recorded
in 1926 by this guy:
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=1120459
, NOT by Bob Dylan in "Subterranean Homesick Blues" in the 60s, LOL!
By reading the timeline link I provided in an above post, you can see
how it has evolved over the years.
