Lazy Witnesses
by ellderwho inmy son was leaving the house saturday morning around 8:00 am, the lazy dub could not muster up the strength to get out from behind the wheel of her dub carrying minivan to pawn off the tower rag.
as my son walked to his car, dub lady is waving the tower rag as if " come over here and get this rag so i can count this as time.".
what has this world come to?

He should have pretended to be in some kind of trouble, and asked the Wits for help. I bet they would have scattered like crazy. It would make a good film.

So I Went To Church Yesterday...
by lucifer ini have been playing with the idea of trying out different churches lately, just trying to keep an open mind, i notice myself thinking like a jw sometimes, thinking that no other religion is right, well whether there is a "true" religion or not i want to be able to say that at least i didn't give up after being a jw.
so i have been saying to my friends that i want to go to church, we talked about it a bit, but only one of my friends goes more than just christmas, so nothing ever came of it.
well the other day he was over for movies and i mentioned it again( it was saturday night) and he said that his parents are making him go tomorrow if i wanted to go.

I would love to do this. A new church every weekend. I just don't know how I could do it without being punished.
I love seeing how other people live. I wish I could find a church buddy!!!!
Even my inactive or disfellowshipped friends still think it's the truth, so they wouldn't go with me. Well, maybe one of them.......I might ask him in private.

Pigs. come on, you have to admit, it's pigs.
Step, step, step, step.
Oink, oink, oink, oink.
Or.....
I had an awesome fish- It was a Chinese fighting fish. I think maybe it was really some kind of eel. It had a huge head and mouth. It looked exactly like the dragon in a Chinese parade. It killed everything I put in the tank with it. It jumped out of the tank during the night and layed on the floor till morning. I would put it back in the tank and it would live as normal. It was an awe-inspiring creature.

Why can't you just move on?
by atypical inthat's what my wife said to me the night before last.
i was making an observation about the way my family and other jws in my life are constantly trying to get me to go to a meeting or read an awake, but they never want to sit down and address the questions i have raised to them.
she then asked me why i can't just move on.

I feel for you, Claw. I slept in a separate bedroom last night, too. What a weird reality. I woke up this morning so disoriented. I didn't know if I should separate our bank accounts or buy her flowers. It sucks. But it helps to know that other people are living through similar experiences.

I would love to believe this. It would give me the perfect angle to use on my dad, whom I love very much and who loves to read about the Illuminati. But I would also love to win the Powerball. It will probably never happen.

Martin's Method of Giving a Testimony to JWs: Would this really work?
by Oroborus21 inok so i read in walter martin's the kingdom of the cults how he claims to use the following method to give a testimony to jehovah's witnesses who come to his door periodically, and frankly i find it a bit dubious, despite his claims that he has successfully done it many times.
he calls this method "subliminal seeding" (pg.
487-8) [a dubious title already]:.

From the viewpoint of my former active jw days, I can tell you that I would have just bowed my head while he prayed, said my own prayer in my head, and then timed my amen to coincide with his. Thus I would have given an acceptable prayer, while still pretending to be polite to him. I don't think this tactic would work with any hardcore jw. It is very interesting, though.

I know the feeling, man. I moved back into the neighborhood I grew up in. It is very strange to try to rationalize my memories of bliss and ignorance with my present situation. But I really think it is better to let yourself see and feel than to ignore your past.
