the wbts has published many of these, where money is found and returned to the owner .with a reason,because i am a jw.in this issue,there is a big picture of nelma:a woman from chuzeiro do sul,brazil.she apparently found $1000.00 in the pockets of some trousers that were donated because of a flood.nelma returned the money to the businesswoman who had donated the clothing.this lady was overjoyed to receive the money,because she had set aside her payroll for her employees in a trouser pocket.. should they(gb/fds) be idolizing these honest people?.
note:no man should be idolized.christians should guard against idolatry.it means giving such a one a measure of worshipful devotion.but god explicitly stated that he does not tolerate such a thing.however,they (gb/fds) lack proper perspective,of knowledge and understanding of honest people helping people.it is as if by exalting a fellow human creature they are lifting themselves up also.. now here is an example from the world.. this is from a wordly newspaper.yes i know the wts says these are half truths.i will not quote the whole article.

The WTBTS and JWs are just like everyone else. But they need to believe that they are special. So they highlight anything positive that is done in their organization. Then they contrast that with publishing everthing negative with everyone else's.
If they would only give equal time to publishing negative things about themselves and positive things about others they would be more honest and realistic.

Zico is on target. Being an NGO isn't the issue. There many NGOs who are not "associated with the Department of Public Information" ( DPI ), at the UN.
Thats the point. They were applied for and recieved status as "NGOs in association with the Department of Public Information" at trhe UN.
To do so they met the criteria. They kept this secret. They lied about it when caught.
If there was nothing wrong why didn't they tell eveyone when it was going on and especially when it was exposed in the Gaurdian?

Since my wife is a Witness I keep tabs on the religion. I had stopped posting for almost a year and will slow down when the next semester begins. I still post mainly about the JW religion but also about the Bible and religion in general.
I see this as an internet forum like many others where just about anything is discussed. It is an online community where people can communicate in the new style.

I hear about Witness deaths in car accidents often but because of my inactivity and remoured apostacy no one will tell me the details like if they bled to death. The most recent one the Witness was out in service. Sad.

when i was a jw kid, i got the impression that jws (like other die-hard creationists) attributed all evidences of an ice age to the noachian flood.
problem is, that point of view seems to think that the polar ice caps are the only natural phenomenon that needed explanation (read "explaining away").. the noachian flood perspective does not explain what large glaciers are doing in places like papua new guniea or new zealand.. the same biblical explanation also does not address the evidence for multiple (~4?

very few sermons in our western synagogues and churches would include the passage "i [god] form the light and create darkness, i make peace and i create evil, i am the lord who does all of these" (isaiah 45:7) as our western mind sees these two forces as opposing opposites while the eastern mind sees them both as equals and necessary for perfect balance.
Good post. I have noticed different stages in the way the Books of the Bible address bad, evil, Satan, heaven and hell.
I'm sittng here drinking a beer so I'm not going to write a long post with quotes but I find it interesting that the Bibles position changes as the Hebrews and Christians were exposed to other religions and philosophies. The earlier books of the Bible are very much as you state.

The screen is pretty good quality. I'm looking at it as the new way to carry wallet pics to show others. I'm trying to get the rest of my CDs ripped to my computer now so I can sync them to the Zunes.
