  the guy i've just started seeing has certainly inspired this thread: he believes television and newspapers only corrupt the mind, practices some weird religion having to do with contacting his ancestors but claims it has nothing to do with demon worship and doesn't even own a cellphone.

  back when i was a boy in the 1950s many men wore hats and so did my father.. one evening at the kh he was called in to the backroom by the elders for a 'meeting after the meeting',.

  his crime?

  he had been seen raising his hat when greeting women!!!!.

  I am hurt, my wife had a miscarriage and still my family didn't contact me

  two weeks ago my wife had a miscarriage at 11 weeks.

  it is very sad as it was to be my first child and my wife is already 39. what hurt the most though is that none of my immediate family contacted me.

  i was d/f in january and did not expect to hear regularly from my parents and sister.

  Found out there is a religion EXACTLY like JW'S!! And I mean EXACTLY!

  so i was talking to a friend of mine today, who was raised a protestant but it is some fanatical protestant group that is exactly like jehovah's wittnesses.

  her religion has basically the same teachings : the paradise, disfellowshipping, marrying "only in the lord" , no college, submissive women; the whole bit!

  she was even raised around the same terms like us: holy spirit instead of ghost, the "older ones", worldy, bad association, elders,

  She said it was Protestant but a different denomination of it. I will have to ask her to clarify. Dcary thought to know that JW's aren't the only crazies out ther..ya learn something new everyday

She was even raised around the same terms like us: holy spirit instead of ghost, the "older ones", worldy, bad association, elders, Same cult practices: confessing sins to elders, not attending funerals of D'F, marry young, "apostate' thinking, avoiding books, mags not in accordance with religion, etc But the weirdest thing of all is her 'elders' always stressed to the members to stay away from Jehovah's Wittnesses by all means. And yet, this is the first time I've never once heard of a religion so similar to ours We both came to the conclusion that both the Society and her church leaders have been wanting to keep this a secret-after all we've both been always taught that our" teachings are so different from the world's, that we practice D'F unlike churces who condone such behavior, we are seperate from the world and so on...my guess is it would be quite an eye opener to everyone if they heard of another religion that basically taught those same principles. Does anyone know any information on this particular religion..she said they don't have a website-apparently they frown on the internet too!

  so tonight i work for a dance dance revolution tournament because i'm on our campus programming and relations board.

  but do you guys know of any fun things to do this weekend?

  maybe not going places since we all live all over... but fun cheap things to do with a close friend?

  as an able apologist for jw dogma, i am wondering whether you give me answers with scriptural backing for a few questions.

  in other words, whatever your answer is i would like scriptures to support the answer.

  i hope that is not too much to ask.. (1) was charles taze russell ever the "faithful and wise steward" assigned to give people their "portion of meat in due season"?.

  my niece who is 19 and involved with a "married" man had to meet with her jw's elders last week.

  she was terrified because the elders have told her time and time again to get rid of her "married" boyfriend but she refused.

  she is head over heels in love with the guy.

  The pen (keystroke) is mightier than the sword i now have nearly 45,000 pages up on the information superhighway and that wicked congregation is nearly defunct.

  I heard about this congregation! Don't remember quite what was going on but I am sure I heard about something bad going on in there. It had to of been something serious cause its very rare that the witnesses will gossip about the negative stuff having to do with "'God's Organization"
