and it seems like we're getting a few like this nearly every day.
people who were raised jws, really worry that they are doing the right thing in leaving, yet who have been made to feel not good enough by the wts, who felt they never measured up, who struggled with it, but came to realize that what they'd been brought up to believe was just not the truth.. the same stories are told over and over again, and they come from sincere, good people - not whiny, fault-finding apostates like the rest of us riffraff around here!

by fish inim interested in hearing what your personal reaction would be if (i say if because probably 99.9% here believe this will never happen) all the religions of the world were to be suddenly banned/shut down/decommissioned/liquidated/dismembered/etc.. by the political powers of the world.

I don't believe this could ever happen, but if it did.....I would be celebrating, and never and I repeat never would I even think for a moment that the JW's were somehow right after all, because after all I have learned about my sad religion, and all religion in general, there is no doubt in my mind that all of it is BS.
About the Gaia thingy, maybe that wouldn't be such a bad idea. None of the religious systems so far have been able to bring peace, because they are all deluded into thinking they are the true religion, well, THERE IS NO TRUE RELIGION!
John Lennons song brings tears to my eyes, because his words are so true, in a world like that...although I think it would be very difficult to make that happen, we would all be happy!

dido, in your case and in cases of people that are sensitive to these things, I can see how they would be disturbing, what I meant is that to people like me and others here who no longer believe in the existence of the biblical Satan character or his demons it is quite amusing. I used to believe that demons at times bothered me when I had these vivid dreams where I couldn't move and I would feel their prescense and would try to say Jehovah's name (that's what we were told to do) but couldn't, anyway, I would wake my husband up making these weird noises and really freaked out, thankully I haven't had any more of those. I read this article on the web about sleep paralyses and it describes exactly what I felt, my mom also suffers from this but she is sure it's demons (she's a regular pioneer and has had this problem since she was a little girl), and it is hereditary, what they said is that what you will see is usually what you fear most, it's a very common thing, and many people like me confused it for demon problems. I was very glad to have read that, together with researching about the Satan beliefs and how they evolved to what is common belief now, I am glad to be free from those fears.

Yes indeed, this is labeled as a pre-human, why do they always want to insist that it had anything to do with humans? How many millions of species of animals have become extinct in the last 1 million years, why don't they ever say that maybe it was a now extinct species of apes? but no, they want to grab on to anything that even remotely shows it had any similarity to humans instead of accept that we were designed and created by a higher intelligence.

when i look back at that idea it seems very awkward and flawed.
i believe there was some mention of one of the early bible charactors as having darker skin - as though adam was a white man to begin with!

First of all, the Genesis story is just that a story, no I don't for a second believe that all humans came from one pair, that is ridiculous! I don't buy the evolution story either, my thought are that we were created and designed by some higher intelligence, not by the Bible God which to me is BS, by who I don't really know, and frankly it doesn't matter. I believe that all living things are influenced by their surroundings, the food available, the environment, the predators etc. Take us in the US for example we are on the average larger, and heavier than lets say people in Africa, because we have access to all this food, but they are thin because of their situation out there, we suffer from diseases brought on by what we consume, they suffer diseases brought on by malnutrition and so on. I don't think it is possible for an animal to purposely change any part of their anatomy to accomplish a task. How would this work? Does a bird with a short beak just sit there and think "Damn, those bugs in that tree sure look freakin good, if only my beak was longer I could reach in there and have a feast" and lo and behold his beak suddenly begins growing his DNA is altered and not only does he get to eat the bugs, but his offspring do too, because now they will all be born with long beaks. I don't know, it just doesn't make sense to me. Because if that was the case, we would all be able to fly, breath underwater, women would have no body hair except for their heads, men would never go bald, and host of other things that humans have always longed for. It might just be me, maybe I just haven't really read enough about this evolution thingy, who knows?

I think the artists are just having some fun. Since I am convinced that the Satan belief is just BS, just research where these ideas came from and you will see that it is all a load of BS. Soooooooo there is no demonic crap, just humans doing evil things because they like to. The subliminal stuff is just funny, it can't harm you it's just done for entertainment purposes, or to creep out those that believe in this stuff.

Why does he want to extend his life and continue living in this evil system that is governed by "the great serpent Satan"? Doesn't he believe that he is going to heaven to sit with his buddies that already took the trip and shoot the poop with Jesus up there? My guess would be that, no he does not believe in the BS himself and he is afraid of what will happen because he doesn't know what really happens to you after you die, he is petrified, but even all the Borg's money can't save him, because his time is almost up.

I feel absolutely no sympathy for that old bastard, not that I wish him any harm, but hey, anyone at the head of an organization that has caused so much damage to innocent people would have heart problems, especially if he ever lurked on this board and saw the harm his precious "publishing company posing as a religion" was causing to so many families.

Will the wts face a Muslim backlash over the new tract?
by fullofdoubtnow inthey do, after all, classify all religions apart from theirs as false, and we've seen in the last few days that it doesn't take much to inflame the more militant factions of islam.
there's a large muslim community around here, and i can't see some of them taking kindly to being labelled a false religion.. this may not be the best time for the wts to be distributing such "information", but i expect they will go ahead, oblivious as to the sort of reaction it may provoke.
i hope that nothing much comes of this campaign, but in the sensitive times in which we all live, i can't help wondering....
