A Genuine Invitation to any Lurking Elders or JW's
by JWFreak ini have just decided to start posting, as has another elder "doubting brother" .
i guess that there are perhaps many out there who wish to post but are perhaps nervous.
well that is quite understandable.

If the UN dissolves...will the WTS recover?
by AuldSoul inthere is a public groundswell of support within the united states of america, inc. for the us to withdraw from the un.
while this departing of one-half of the seventh king (and the "king of the south") could be prophetically spun into a harmless twist and twang on an old saw, the general consensus seems to be that the un would have great difficulty maintaining orderliness within its ranks.
also, there is a strong argument to be made that without us financial backing the un would fold due to a shortage of funding.. although it isn't particularly likely, it is certainly a possibility.

They would probably say what they did with the King of the North: We don't know who is the "image of the wild beast." We will have to wait on Jehovah!

Has anyone ever sued the Watchtower for loss of inheritance ..... and won?
by hubert inwell, that's the question.
my wife came up with this one, without really knowing the impact it had on me.. i've heard a few discussions on this, but never heard anything solid about it.
is there a way we can find out?

They will at times give the one contesting the will money. They do NOT want these cases to go to court as they know that they stand a good chance of losing. I know of at least one such case where they awarded several thousand dollars.

"Store up... treasures in heaven." 2007 Circuit Assembly review
by Zico ini had my circuit assembly last weekend.
it was absolutely mind numbing, but i took extensive notes, and i thought i'd share the key points with everyone here for your reading pleasure.. .
i feel i'd made a lot of progress since my convention in june.

I skimmed your notes. One thing jumped out at me though: "We had ONE baptism this assembly! Incredible, over 500 in attendance, and just ONE baptism. And who was it? A young teenage girl who had been brought up in 'The Truth'" This happened at my assembly as well. And there have been others with as many as 1100 in attendance would had ONE baptism candidate.

Say You're a Bethelite & Monitoring JWD - How Would You Feel About THESE??
by Seeker4 ini'm talking about the new posters, like kitten whiskers, who started posting today (hope this works: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/120817/1.ashx).
and it seems like we're getting a few like this nearly every day.
people who were raised jws, really worry that they are doing the right thing in leaving, yet who have been made to feel not good enough by the wts, who felt they never measured up, who struggled with it, but came to realize that what they'd been brought up to believe was just not the truth.. the same stories are told over and over again, and they come from sincere, good people - not whiny, fault-finding apostates like the rest of us riffraff around here!

Hey Zarco, welcome aboard. Nice to see another elder posting here. My days as one are numbered. Simply because the hypocrisy of the Society is so hard to stomach. But for now I am "holding the door open" for as many as I can. tsof

Comments You Will Not Hear at the 9-17-06 WT Study (BE HAPPY)
by blondie incomments you will not hear at the 09-17-06 wt study (august 1, 2006, pages 26-29)(be happy).
(1 timothy 2:5) for there is one god, and one mediator between god and men, a man, christ jesus?.
despite his busy schedule, paul was always eager to do more in jehovah?s service.. notice how using an ot example leaves jesus out of the picture.. [picture on page 29] fear of god is a precious heritage that parents can pass on to their children.

Two 'examples' of sisters marrying "fine Christian elders." Who will have little time for them since as a "fine" elder they will be busy with RBCs, HLCs, CBSO, JCs, PVGs, etc. Wow what a privilege! Are there any examples of sisters who just marry good brothers? I wonder if this pressures the girls to look at titles rather than character and compatibility.

Patriotism...The American Flag...Pledge of Allegience...Are they Wrong???
by LuciousJ ini'm confused about the whole 'patriotic' do's & don'ts.
what is the real take on it....is it wrong to have anything patriotic?
is it wrong to say the 'pledge of allegiance'?
-
truthsetsonefree
This is an interesting hypocrisy on their part. Go to the songbook, the song Displaying Loyalty and you will find that JWs pledge allegiance...TO THE ORGANIZATION! Steadfastly no less.

When the Sunday speaker did not show up.....
by target ini remember that happening a few times.
one sunday morning my son went up to a young elder and said "hey, i thought you were giving the talk today in xxx xxxxx.
the look of horror on the elder's face!
-

Interestingly, this has been happening more and more. Recently at one congregation I'm familiar with, the public talk was CANCELED because the speaker didn't show.

Why cant J-Dubs provide more help to their sick?
by JimWood intwo contrasting examples recently crossed through our lives which showed the pathetic ?love?
that is in the kh towards sick members.
1) a brother in his early 50?s developed cancer, within two years he died.

JWs have way too much to do slaving for the WTS. Caring for the sick is not considered part of "sacred service." Plus money issues, and the fact that the WTs teachings don't emphasize love for neighbor. They emphasize religious rituals.
