Because it's fun - Can it really be that simple?
by Nellie inlast night in gabbly i asked why celbrate xmas.
the answer i got was, "because it's fun.
" can it really be that simple?.

Well I didn't read all the answers here but personally I think celebrating xmas is not a 'should' or a 'shouldn't' ... (like many other things JWs try to regulate).
You are FREE now to do it IF you WANT to. To whatever degree or extent you want to participate in it OR not. No Biggie.
But that's just my 2 cents ~ Smiles

How should I report zero hours for November?
by OnTheWayOut inthis was my topic november 3rd;.
for the first time in my jw history, i turned in a slip with a big zero written in every column,.
turned it over and wrote "zero tracts" below that, i wrote "stumbled by the co".

I'm with the 'finally just left' comment.
Either just stop cold turkey with the meetings or go down to every other Sunday only for a couple of months or something like that.
It seems you have set the stage to just quit. Good for you!!! How much hassle you get will probably depend on the dilligence of the elders (ie. they may look u up at CO visits when they have to give a publisher report) and how many in the congregation will miss you (how much you were liked). Otherwise you are home free ... get busy living your life ... there is so much you can do with your new found freedom. The mental freedom may take a little longer to actually get but why not go ahead and enjoy your physical freedom.

As a successful quiter/fader (for going on 3 years) I would say ... if you are still an elder then turn in a slip with at least a minimul (is that a word?) amount of time. Once you step down and start missing meetings you can gradually start to stop turning in a slip at all.
As long as u are at the meetings and hold a position ... if u don't turn in a slip with a little time on it you are inviting harrassment. So it really just depends on if you want to leave un-noticed or with a bang. And THAT my frined is up to You.

Welcome weary!!!
As you have read no you are not the only one. I think we all felt that as we decided what was the most healthy next step for us individually.
Hang in there. Be patient with yourself as you move forward. And for goodness sack let go of other people's expectations of you.
