Yay-You...!!!
Very "Liberating"....... isn't it...
I also have to deal with the fear and anxiety feelings when something big happens in the world...and the "just maybes"... they conditioned us well....

++ Send out some good thoughts to those that need it
by LouBelle infirst of all i miss sademo & that she used to put a weekly vigil up.
everyone needs a bit of tlc, or could do with a bit of upliftment, encouragement, prayers, good vibes...just that little bit of positiveness.. in light of that my dear mum is going through a divorce, and i know it's not easy.. witness 007 is having a rough time & could do with some encouragement.. if you need or know of others that need, then please add your comment.. ian - dansk - i don't know if you still come on here, but if you do, know that i still think about you and still wonder how you are doing.
i'll be sending you some good thoughts and a letter your way...check the mail.. .

Men or Women Seeking a Relationship - What Qualities Do You Look For ?
by flipper inmany of us have had our ups and downs in relationships.
that being said, from what i've noticed people tend to put more effort and emphasis in picking a career or employment and being choosy about that - than putting the time into meeting and getting to know what kind of person they would like to have a relationship with.
so many people leave it up to random selection - not much thought - then they wonder down the road why they are getting burned !

Hi Mr. Flipper,
Towards the end of my JW stint...
I had decided there was no way in hell, I was marrying another witness. A bunch of us had went out for drinks ( all we knew how to do)... and I told them that I planned to remarry and he wouldn't be a witness.
You could have heard a pin drop... oh well, I was on my way out anyway... Lol.
First, I dated a "Biker"... because that's what my life was prior to becoming a witness, we rode his Harley and went to a huge biker party in Indy, didn't take long for me to realize that the "Biker Lifestyle" wasn't for me anymore. I had grown past it. He was a really sweet guy tho...
Dated another guy, that I had known from high school, we had been friends for 25 years... and that's all I could feel, friendship. There was no chemistry at all... zero.
Started going to the dirt tract races with my family and it was there, that I decided, "I'm gonna get me one of those race car boys". And I did.
He's handsome, honest, dependable, a hard worker and solid as a rock... with just a touch of... "Wild Side"...
Just what I needed and wanted.
We've been together for 9 years now........I love him more every day.

Where was the joy they kept taling about
by heybaby inok, so i have been thinking about my time as a jw (i'm fading out - read my other posts for background info).
you know how you always hear how the ministry will bring so much joy and contentment, yadda yadda yadda?
i always hated service...always!!

I understand where the joy fraud comes from. You have to have it, because if you don't express it, then you are spiritually weak. There really isn't any time for sadness with the end so near!
So true, Buster....
I can still remember that pasted on smile... they weren't fooling anyone, not really...except maybe themselves.
Tool Man...
Welcome to JWD...
Look forward to your posts.

I hate talking to people who obviously knew more about the Bible then I did, only to try to convince them that they were wrong and I was right.
That was my feeling exactly...
What right did I have to tell someone (eventually ) that their personal beliefs were wrong. I hated it, completely and totally hated it.
I would walk away from the doors feeling so guilty and low, thinking those people were going to be judged on my pathetic, ramblings and it was all my fault....
Never felt the "Joy"...

Name Things That Are Uniquely "Special" To Jehovah's Witnesses
by minimus injws have certain must haves.
for example a jw needs his or her own "bookbag".
an elder needs an "elder case", something very big, because after all, he's an elder!

At the time, for us...
We were encouraged to have the complete set of "Kingdom Melodies" on CD.
We were to listen to them at home during our meals together as a family... "Which we did"...
