I think it's our "Truth book"!!! I agree it's like the "big book" to those in AA! Anyway we describe it, it's a lifeline to alot of people.

i've just re-read c-o-c, a book which never ceases to amaze me.
on the book's jacket there are the inevitable short reviews on the back.
not sure what the exact name for them is but you get them on most books and they often resort to hyperbole, eg " a rip roaring, gut busting, bodice ripping, roller coaster of a novel" .

i'm not sure whether there is a god or not.
so far as i can tell, there isn't much evidence to support his existence... .
but sometimes i find myself in what appears to be a prayer.
Personally, I pray to my Goddess. I also do alot of meditation and spend alot of time outside in nature to find my own connection. When I was forced to pray to Jehovah, I'd look around the congregation and think what a "bunch of crap"!!!
i have a bit of a dilemma and would like some opinions.
as many of you know i use a wheelchair to get around.
and going grocery shopping is becoming a real pain.
Lady Lee-
Like everyone else said- let your voice be heard. Not only notify their corporate, but the newspapers, any senior associations--or anywhere they gather. Does Cananda have our version of the Better Business Bureau? You wouldn't just be standing up for yourself, but also for those others with disabilities. Some of them may not have the guts to stand up for themselves. If you could let us know anyone to contact also, I'm sure we'd all be glad to smother them with our opinions! Also, you might let other stores know what this other store isn't doing. I bet that publicity might help.
I know here in the USA, people who have disabilities and/or are senior citizens quailify for home health aides for running errands, shopping, and light housekeeping.
Let us know what we can do!

i don't know if i was missed, but is't good to be back!
i really missed most of you (and even the assholes)!to make a long story short, my boyfriend moved in with me about thanksgiving.
he got back into dealing and everything else.
thanks everyone!
It feels like part of my piece of mind is rreturning now that I'm back among my "family".
I don't have my altar out- yet. I'm trying to get into an Oxford house. There's also a half-way house in KC. But the one good thing is my mom hasn't been to a meeting since I've been here! (I'm suck a bad influence! ha ha ha) We had to agree not to talf about that crap, but she tries to slip in some things. I just usually say "Yes, mom". She knows I'm blowing her off. But if course I get my digs in, too!
Love all of ya'll-

how many times did you hear jw`s rant on 'we dont baptize our children as infants, we let them make their own decision as adults'.
fair enough?
yes, how balanced and reasonable.
Remember you are talking about UNbalanced and NONreasonable!! As a nurse (most everyone has heard this), I had the priviledge of intervening in 2 instances of them trying to take their child from the hospital and/or trying to withhold blood.
When my younger was about 4, she had an old utility trailer hitch fall on her. They couldn't find a surgeon to operate on her. They were willing to let my little sister loose her eyesight, or worse, die.
I feel very strong about this issue and will do anything in my power to intervene or at least raise awareness to this issue.

need some suggestions on what i can do mentally, or physically if applicable, to pass the time.
i actually thought of having another kid just so i'd have an excuse to walk around and not listen to the crap but of course they dont announce the assemblies 9 mos in advance normally.
any ideas?
My parents thought I always signed up to help prepare the food--got me out of alot of "sitting time". We'd go outside and do "whatever" and get back in in time to help serve. When I was a teenager, I'd get tonsilitis when it was time for assemblies. Can't fake that. Some "higher power" was helping me out and getting me out of assemblies!
This was done by someone else--print a bunch of fliers the size of checks and keep putting them in the contribution boxes!!
Another thing I did was to volunteer to help take care of somone's toddler. Can't help it if he/she started crying when I needed a break!!
We'd always get busted writing notes. But it was a good idea to get some crosswords or find-a-word. OR take some books of another religion or apostate ones. When you are suppose to look up a scripture, say something like, "Oh, I brought the wrong books again." Hold them up so everyone around you can see them and hear you.
Good luck and have fun!

thanks guys!!!I'm sure I'll be doing plenty of ranting. Can't let her see this site--she'll be convinced I'm demonized. I made her agree JW's and my path are off limits. She'd have a heart attack if she knew I was wiccan and I hung out with all you apostates!!!!! What a bad influence you all are!! But, gotta love most of you!!!!

Billygoat--I know my name is misleading. My name is shelley. When I signed up here I didn't know what to do. It's really suppose to be "crazy-blonde-b". Last "b" is for bitch.I'd like to change it to txtornado (what I am on all the other boards. That's ok, I'll answer to almost anything!!!!
i am wondering of anyone who would care to share.
where have your spiritual journies taken you now that you've left or are at least questioning the organization?
any muslims?.
I have found my way to the pagan path. So I guess it would be close to sunnygal's. Everyone is encouraged to find their own path! It empowers me to have faith in myself.
