The Dub At My Door (is back for Return Visit)
by TerryWalstrom inthe dub at my door ___________________i’d rather have a root canal than agree to a sit down with an active jehovah’s witness.i’m an ex-jw.
for good reason.
fool me once....i’m an activist and an author of a book or two exposing and vilifying the destructive jw cult organization.yet i agreed.

Those who DO NOT get a resurrection?
by stuckinarut2 inso we know that by jw logic, the idea is that everyone who dies is acquitted of their sin and will get a resurrection in the "new world".
however, those directly destroyed by god, or at his command will not.
(for example, those destroyed in the flood.

The jw belief from the original poster said, "... the idea is that everyone who dies is acquitted of their sin"-
What was the point of Jesus death upon the cross (err, stake if you must)? If they say Jesus was jah's son, aren't we all God's children? Why acknowledge Jesus at all if your own death acquits you of sin? If we are all acquitted of sin when we die then why bother with the watchtower at all?

Is there some reason you must open the door to these people? Pretend you are not at home or in bed, shower, on your way out the door.....etc...... they don't have to know you are simply driving around the block to get rid of them. You are not obligated to answer phone calls either, let it go to voice mail. Avoid, avoid, avoid if you you can't tell them to piss off.

custody orders, proving to the court why my daughters should be baptized at 18. JW OR NOT
by Gokumonkey inhello everyone ive been posting about this situation about my daughters and their jw mom so if u want to get a back story about whats going on you can check out my previous posts.. note- daughters are only 5 months old, and i live in the united states.. right now im typing up my court orders to present to the court but ive come to a road block.
i want to add reasons to why its not a good idea to have my daughters be baptized at a young age.. here is my rough draft -.
"age appropriate baptism – i wish that my daughters to be baptized at the legal age of 18 years old.

When JWs Pray for Houston
by NJ501 inwhen i hear prayers given by brothers why do they only pray for other jws not all people??
i remember hearing a comment from my mother saying 4000 jws are affected by this...and i'm thinking yes that is sad but what about the tens of thousands other people affected?
too me it just doesn't seem right to just pray for jws but to pray for all victims.

This comes to mind-
45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Do not even tax collectors do the same? 47And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even Gentiles do the same?…
Praying for all is what most Christians find appropriate and loving. jw's aren't really in that class though are they?

How to disorder a JW (family) chat
by Gorbatchov inwe all know the moment that a nice family chat is moving to the propaganda game.. sister in law saying that jw.org is the highest ranked website, cousing saying that the new hq is energy neutral, aunt stating that jw have the best education.... what can we say on these moments?.
that br splane just likes these new light ideas?.
that a jw.org video stated that jw use the name jehovah because people recognize this name?.

Saying they have the highest ranked website when they require all their members to visit it is idiotic.
Say you have only one power company in your area and they have the audacity to say 'We are the number one provider of power in xyz area!' Well, no shit sherlock, you are the only one! We are required to use you!
Think about how often a dedicated watchtower follower would need to check site on a daily basis. Gorbatchov's list is enough of a start, then think of the jw who lives with non believers and has that jw discussion and must run to the literature for answers.
If they could track it by non members then they might have bragging rights if the numbers were that high. Aren't they supposed to be humble anyway?

Why the vitriolic hate?
by stuckinarut2 ini am sure we have all thought of this before, but it struck me again today:.
why does the society promote such vitriolic hate toward, and about those who have left "the truth" ?.
surely it is obvious that such critical attitudes towards ones like us who have left, only serves to proove that they do not have "the truth"?.

"WHY does the society promote such vitriolic hate toward, and about those who have left "The Truth" ?"--- easy, that's what all cults do.

Brother & Sisters, Aunts and Uncles.....husband and wife
by menrov inwas just thinking about the practice in wt (and i believe some other religions as well) to call your fellow female (baptized) jw a sister, a brother if it is a man.
children call older people aunt or uncle.
so, at home, i can call my wife by her first name etc.
-
carla
Really? Clear this up for me, let's say people are milling about at a kh and husband & wife are having conversation with someone, the husband is supposed to refer to his wife as sister so & so? how weird is that?!
At the kh they are brother & sister in jah I am presuming? it ends when they leave the kh? then they are back to being husband & wife?
As for kids calling non family members aunt & uncle that is common and a way to be respectful. We had a few friends of the family and we did the same. They were close to us and it would have been odd to call them Mr. & Mrs like the neighbor down the street. (naturally all non jw folks involved here)
