Two JDubs just knocked on my door !

the exclamation mark in the title above is because i was surprised, as i know that i am a "do not call", but this was what i presume were now two elders,(i have not been told their present status), so they reckon they are equipped to handle me, lol.

it was a friendly chat, as i knew the guys for decades.. during the course of our chat i was able to lead them towards jwfacts.com, i did this by a circuitous route which i will not bore you with, but right at the end i said that bro russell had said no matter what the source of truth was, it was still truth.. i am hoping they do not fear going to the site, i also pointed out that paul grundy says if anything is wrong on his site, e-mail him and he will correct it.. i did get a couple of digs in, said the gb were now like rock stars, one guy said "i don't think they would like you calling them that", so i said " o.k, tv evangelists then".

he had no reply to that barb !.

If you would rather they didn't show up even after being a do not call I suggest you write NY and ask them if they would please honor the do not call! Yeah I know, it will get them in trouble but..... it might show jw's like our new friend Mark that it is indeed a cult when these two are marked for disobeying orders. There will be repercussions from knocking on a do not call door, I know this from personal experience.

If they are diehard jw's they must be willing to walk the line, that includes taking the punishment. After all, it is only done out of love right? when the cong has to treat them like shit for a reason they will never know, they can feel the love of the society in which they live.

I have been to churches where modern type music was played (guitars,drums,etc..) but never, ever did they mix Elvis & Sister Sledge with Christian rock or hymnal type music. What on earth is going on here?

Dancing? the guy gyrating his hips on stage? all that clapping and bowing at the end?! Isn't that giving to much honor to those mere humans?

I don't get it, it seems so anti jw I am dumbfounded.

I would bet my last dollar that if I showed this to my jw he would say it was some made up thing by apostates to make the borg look bad.

i spent some time here awhile back as an unbelieving mate of a jw wife.

i learned a lot, and was able to be supportive and understanding when she decided to leave the jw.. unfortunately, my son seems to have internalized many of the jw teachings.

Today is Christmas, and guess what? Witnesses's were going house to house on my block, TODAY ON CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

i kid you not!!!!!

my family, and i, were on our way to my wife's brothers house today, which is the families christmas tradition.

we open presents in the morning, and at around 10:30, we head over to my brother in laws for breakfast/brunch, with all the family.. so, as we loaded some presents up in the car, and we all jumped, and drove away, at the end of my block, jehovahs witnesses!

For those who can't understand why it is rude as hell- First off you were not invited to even be knocking on their door, secondly on Christmas people are busy with their families creating loving memories and do not want jw's interrupting that family time, thirdly, how would jw's react if a bunch of folks showed up to picket or even silently pray for jw's at the kh on their reject Jesus memorial day? they would be hopping mad, think it rude and in all likelihood call the police.

They are not out doing what they think is right trying to save the world, they are out trying to get their time in and look extra pious in the eyes of other jw's at the k-hell.

Perhaps they should keep it up because on Monday when everybody is back to work they will tell how some @$$%@^$ jw showed up while company was there trying to convert them away from Jesus on the day many celebrate to commemorate the birth of Jesus. I can hardly imagine being a jw and walking past the sign in someones yard " Jesus is the reason for the season" and still having the nerve to knock on Christmas.

What is next for them? WWJD bracelets? I am astonished by this article because they so rarely give Jesus more than lip service. Are they trying to appear more palatable to the mainstream?
