  Should private citizens be allowed to video record law enforcement?

  i saw an article in the news yesterday that laws are going to be passed subjecting the police to being recorded by anyone while performing their duty or enforcing the law and encourages citizens to sue if they interfere.

  some law enforcement agents become angry and confiscate recording devices from people recording them while making an arrest, etc.. it does seem that the work that the police and other government agents do is public and not private or confidential so there should be nothing to hide from the cameras.

  on the other hand, how can one distinguish being shot by a camera or by a weapon until one is hit?.

  I was always under the impression that if you are in a public place you have no expectation of privacy and that would also include officers. If you are at a beach, fair or just walking down the street a photographer can film or snap pic of you and you have no recourse or expectation of compensation for using your likeness. Much like the paparazzi do to the rich and famous.

  Naturally this can cause all sorts of problems for people. What if some weirdo is taking photos of your kids or wife? what if someone just doesn't want their photo taken? and so on.....

  Is it just me or are the street sign, road,car verification excessive?

  i must go through six of new verification screens on average before verifying.

  i seriously try harder and harder, i don't know if we include the tiny little piece of sign or not.

  i have done both,and still get another screen.

  Yes! there was another thread or two on this and from what I gather it is on Google's end. I don't think there is anything Simon can do about it. It is annoying though isn't it?

  From enemies to friends: Did it really happen?

  yesterday, they showed the story “from enemies to friends” at the kingdom hall.

  my mother in law told me about it as she was touched by the story.

  so then, later in the evening, i searched for the video and found it in the january 1st 2017 broadcast.

  Heck, they could get tons of current and probably daily stories if they changed it to 'friends to enemies- the real life effects of shunning'.

  hi all.. it's being a while that i don't share in the forum.

  after moving to another country and finding a job, i asked my congregation in my country to send my publishing card here.

  once i did it, i stopped attending meetings.

  Why dont practicing JWS cant accept the fact that the Watchtower Corporation is a commercialized false prophet ?

  to the majority of people who investigate the activities of the wts from its beginning history there were obvious false proclamations and doctrines propagated by the wts.. a matter of fact the wts produced a long list of literature that posted proclamations on the front cover and went into detail of things that were suppose to happen, from jesus returning changing the world in which we live and so on.. wonderful things one might say but not factual or either theologically correct .

  "...who investigate the activities of the WTS...." jw's are not allowed to truly investigate anything about the org even the early history. They accept the revisionist water downed version put out by the org itself.

  If one is told certain things about the history they can simply go to the elder and he will tell you that 'mistakes' were made, human error, etc.... the jw can merrily go on their way satisfied that the wt has done all the homework needed and any mistakes were not that bad anyway. The mistakes didn't really impact peoples lives in a negative way and so on. I know this because that is exactly how it went down in my house when my jw joined up and I tried to tell him about the wt. From the early history, doctrinal, procedures, you name it I tried to tell him. The elders had an answer for everything and could just lump me in with satan trying to sabotage his 'relationship' with jah. ah, you know the story......

  jw's by and large are an intellectually lazy lot, in my opinion.

  the things that asks for street sign or cars takes longer than it ever did and the pictures do a slow fade to come on and then it does it again.. its a pain this never happened before.. surely once is enough to prove i am not a robot..

  Yes! the captcha code seems to be working in slow motion and even if you get all the 'cars' (or whatever) it might say that you failed and try again with street signs, ugh.

  I think mine joined up due to extreme fear of death. Naturally he would deny it and say they have the 'truth'.

  There is no 'death' in normal terms for a jw. Simply sleep and then jah clones you and there you are in a spiritual paradise with pandas and tigers in your front yard and you are happified because you no longer remember your ungodly wife, parents or children who rejected your religion. Yeah, give me some of that! sounds like hell to me.
