  has anyone had something funny happen when the jdubs tried to shun them?

  i had this gem happen this week;.

  i was in walmart shopping when i felt like eyes were staring at me.

  I've had some brilliant 'shuns'. I was walking through a festival and saw in the distance the wife of one of the elders who dfd me, she was on the same path as me and we were about to pass each other. I took my phone out and started reading messages so I didn't have to go through the games, and her reaction was so wild I could see it in my peripheral vision. She had her two young children with her, and as we passed she saw me and she literally pushed her kids behind her so she'd be the protective layer between me and her. She stood still shocked in the path like I've done when I realised I was a couple of steps from a snake. I could hear her thinking 'if I don't move she won't see me and strike'. It was beautiful.

  you get nothing more from going than you would if you read a publication in the comfort of your home.

  I felt important before, now I feel just regular

  when i first got assigned to the circuit work, the branch sent me far away to a rural circuit, they usually do that with the new c.o.'s.

  i had 17 congregations, some of them were only 12 publishers.

  no sound system, no stage, meetings in a persons home with no ac.

  the australian summer can be so hot.

  do any of you homemakers know how i can keep my house cool?........oh crap did i post this in "adult"......now all the wrong people will check this out.

  An awning on our northern windows makes a huge difference. We even put one up on the blank wall that bakes for all of January and Feb. I also keep all doors shut all day when we're out; when it's been dark inside all day it's more pleasant to get home to. Set up convection currents with open windows or doors at each of the sunny/dark ends of the house; air will be pulled through from the cool side, creating a nice draft. We don't have a/c and we do fine.

  Wife Update...

  for those that remember my wife was attacked and nearly raped back in march.

  yesterday, was the preliminary hearing for the "alleged" attacker.

  my wife had to relive that morning in front of that bastard once again.

  Unexpected JW reaction

  i talked to a jw i know and got an unexpected reaction.. i mentioned some of the "conspiracy theory" stuff i have heard...about one taken, one left behind ...and what i have heard about people will be picked up in the middle of the night and taken away to "places".

  this jw took it right in stride and said "yes, that's the way it was done when the nazi's started.

  many jws were killed then...blah blah".

  I became immune to the persecution angle too; as a child I was taught that sooner or later we'd all face concentration camps and having to choose between being shot or 'denying Jehovah', whatever that means. It was just part of the Great Tribulation.

  Update- My Wife shows worse signs of Mental Illness! I feel lost!

  {this is in support of easyreader and his story} my wife hurt her back at work 6 months ago and since......................................... my wife switches from periods of reasonable happiness where we can talk and do things together....to intense rages breaking dishes....to sadness....to laughing at nothing in particular??

  {i hate that the most} she is distant at times and has a short concentration span....she watched a one hour documentary for 2 hours since she continues to rewind sections...she leaves lights on all night and loses things.....these are just afew things.

  she refuses treatment so don't ask.
