i have been with a witness now for 10 - 11 months, i am rather young, 17.. i dont know if i want to be with him but he's giving me all these reasons why i should and i dont know what to do, i broke up with him because he cheated on me and i couldnt cope..i really dont know what to do or what to say to him or myself to figure out what i want :(.
his mum disaproves and wont allow him to see me and he doesnt stand up for me..but i ont know if its worth it..i am sooo confused and i havent a clue how to sort my head out or weather this is worth it at this age.. please help!

You DON'T want to be caught up in the religion.....it will destroy you.....I know you've probably heard this a gazillion times before, but, there are plenty of fish in the sea, and you deserve to find a "Normal" fish who will treat you right!!!! i've been doing some reading about sociopaths or people who have "antisocial personality disorder.
" one book states 1 in 25 people are sociopathic.. this basically means someone without a conscience facility.
someone who cannot empathsize with others.
You have just described my mother-in-law to the letter, and, I might add, her entire family....evil, preditory, yup! She's definitely a wolverine...We've had nothing to do with her for well over 9 years now, and it's great. We don't need her kind of negative energy in our lives. She is not a nice woman, she has no concept of what "love" really means, and she never will. She only knows how to manipulate, lie, cheat, steal, and cause great harm to anyone she comes into contact with. It's sad really, I would hate to be like that.....She is incredibly mean with children, also. Almost like she is jealous of their innocence or something?! And every few years, they move, to a new congregation, so they can begin their predatory behaviour all over again in new territory. They claim to be good JW's, and boy, do they rook the some of the JW's they come in contact with.. talk about your sheep in wolves clothing....

Hey Lost, try looking near the railway yards, we have two sitting in a yard near my home....they do make awesome tables, just throw a tablecloth over them....good luck in your search.

it happened one year ago today.
june 4, 2004. they say these things take time and that recovery gets easier as time goes on, and i suppose that's true.
but then again, some things leave a hole in your heart that will never go away.
My condolences to you and your family David...there is nothing more precious, than time spent with our family. Please let the guilt go, and remember your mother with a smile on your face, and a song in your heart. Knowing that there was a lot of love shared, and you have wonderful memories. As someone else said, leave the guilt for the WTBTS...

im df'd and i have a family member who will still go to the bar with me, come to my house and hang out with me, but in certain situations, he wont because the witnesses may may see.
places like restaurants where the witnesses frequently go, it wont happen.
I guess I was the fence rider, while I was still an active member, as I never turned my back on anyone who was DF'd or DA"d....Family is family, to me, and without them, we have nothing.... same with friends. Years ago, as a teenager, there were about 10 kids I knew, that were all DA'd, and I refused to stop talking to them. I told my mom, "they were never baptised, so we can't treat them as if they were." I believed then, the society was wrong on that, and what? 10 years later, they recanted it, apologised and welcomed them to come back???/ What a crock! They ruined how many lives at that point with that stupid rule.....

No, it most certainly did not destroy my view of humanity. I always knew that there were many people in the "world", who were perhaps better "christians", than some in the congregation. I can't get believe how haughty the JW's are, and how they look down their noses at non-JW's. It's disgusting how they think they have the "truth", and everyone else is so "misguided" by the devil....there are plenty of people I'd much rather associate with,who try to worship "god" to the best of their knowledge and ability, and treat everyone with respect and kindness, than those pompous,judgemental, holier-than-thou JW's. If anything, the WTBS destroyed my faith in them!!!!

how do you feel about it when a formally together couple split up and one of them talks really bad about the other to the children just to get the kids on thier side and to turn them against the other in revenge to sooth hurt feeling?
My brother never spoke an evil word about his ex-wife, in front of his children. She , on the other hand ,never had anything nice to say about my brother, and said it all, then some, in front of the children. However, it is all coming full circle, and the children are seeing exactly what kind of a woman their mother is, and that she told a lot of un-truths about their father. I once told her to be very careful, that one day it would all come home to roost......and it has begun...I'm almost ashamed to say it, but "I told her so"!!!! And she professes to be a good christian, while telling the kids their father is going to die at armaggeddon.....rotten so-and-so.
