Im looking for a large wooden spool....you know the ones they use to wind up power lines? The ones that look like they would fit easily in most modern apartment livingrooms....? Anyone have any tips on where to look for one of these? Dumpster diving not prefered, but not disregarded...

Check out one of the electrical contractors in your area. They usually have various sizes and are happy to rid themselves of them. That is where my neighbor got his.

Hey Lost, try looking near the railway yards, we have two sitting in a yard near my home....they do make awesome tables, just throw a tablecloth over them....good luck in your search.

Try the local company. I got some good ones there. And they were clean.

Call your local cable co. They have many different sizes you could chose from. They are glad to get rid of them or they will have to break them down.
They are called cable reels.
