  Do world events preoccupy you?

  when you read the news on the net or tv or in the news paper, do you get worried about war, oil prices, ozone depletion, species dying, and the list could go on and on, or are you just numb about it?

  i found these 2 forums, and they really think that the end is close, and they aren't jw's !!!!

  What movies make you think of the Borg?...

  i was watching a great sci-fi movie the other day (chronicles of riddick) and there was a phrase in the movie that jumped out at me.

  a soldier was being promoted and he said the phrase "obedience without question, loyalty till underverse comes".

  i thought "wow, just replace underverse with armageddon and that sound just like the witnesses".

  Richie, I like you and respect you but bro you need to please chill, and for goodness sakes please take down your pic, I dont want to see you get hurt. They can hurt you, you know?

  There is part of me that really wants to end it all (not life just my association with WTBTS) but there is part of me that thinks it wold be easier to keep the facade up for another year or so.. SO whatever happens, I'm semi-expecting it anyway. Thanks though.

  Car Wash Con Trick

  just recently, i've been taking hl's car down to the car wash and giving it "the works".. that's multi-coloured foam, wheel wash, hand wash, screen wash, under wash, under protection and finally, dry and then hot wax!

  all for 6.80. whoo hoo!.

  hmm..the hot wax certainly does make it gleam, i thought.

  Thats right iggy- My father used to be a trucker and has told many a thing about what people would do. When something comes in damged, they refuse to accept the product. So when delivering electronics, people will purposely cruch the box of the product and then when it gets refused, they go sell it for half price at truck stops. They do that with food too.

  are you able to tell the real from the phonies?

  i see some posters that automatically raise suspicions because of how they state things.

  others, after reading what they have to say over a period of time, show their true colors.

  i've just been to a big conference where we discussed retention of members and statistically lds lose most members (in the uk anyway) as follows: .

  1/ 14 -18 (largest group) - i think it was 30% .

  2/ new converts (next largest) - in the front door and straight out the back.

  ever forgot you were in a kingdom hall and just blurted out a curse word?

  an old buddy of mine was telling me some story about water skiing and i just said "that's so f**king rad".

  the elders wife standing a few feet away from me looked completely mortified!

  When I was 8, I had a bible reading that contained the word "ass". When I got to it on stage, I started giggling so hard I dropped my Bible.

  One time a brother said Heavenly Thongs instead of heavenly throngs. that got me chuckling.

  and of course when you cuss everywhere else, its hard to hide. So I have slipped up a few times in conversations but then blamed it on my "horrible worldly father"
