How do you think you will handle your own death? . . . . . [language alert]

i know it's not the lightest of topics but the current news coverage of the pope's final hours made me wonder if i'd face things as calmly as he is reported to be doing.

i don't have his faith, or any faith anymore, but i can see how for a true believer that would be a source of strength.. the thing is, a lot of us thought we'd never die.

do you really comprehend what a truly massive mind-fuck that is?

That is precisely why I think the "soul sleep" or being remembered in God's memory is wrong. I don't know what the answer is or what the Truth of death is really is. What I lean towards is the Near-death experiences and that perhaps we do go to heaven right away. Maybe God does allow us to see our families or sort of "check in " on them. I don't think that after we die and years down the road when our children are all grown up and we've missed out on their growing up period, then God resurrects us is at all fair.

Anyway that is just my view and how I reason with this subject. I hope you find something that makes sense to you.

Hi Pennycandy,

I can answer the Mason question for you. Mason or Freemasonry is an organization based on rituals that they claim they can trace back to the time of King Solomon. At that time when the temple was being built there were many Stone Masons (professional stone cutters) employed. Many of the secret rituals today are suppose to have been from that time period and meant certain things that today no one knows the meaning of. King Solomon was suppose to have been an initiate of this secret and participate in it. The top guy in this whole thing was Hiram Abif who was killed for not divulging the meaning of these secret rituals. The meanings died with him. I read in the "Hiram Key" that it is possible that the ones who killed him might have been from the tribes of Israel that fell from God's Grace. (Gen49:6). However this is just speculation and not necessarily true.

A comment I heard tonight

tonight i heard one of the most cruel and twisted comments i've ever heard at the platform.

the topic was the apocalypse and whether or not children will be slaughtered.

through one side of his mouth, the po stated that the bible is not clear on the matter, while out the other side he pointed to all those old testament accounts where children were killed.

So Schism care to tell us your "expertise " on what God does or doesn't approve of? I assume your name is Jesus Christ. Humility is a hard thing for many people. The sooner you are able to analize your ability to show this fine christian quality the sooner you may be able to show everyone here that you should be listened to.

When you are finally able to open your mind to see the true tragedies that this organization has done to families and many lives we will all be here for you. You sound like so many of the pathetic elders (including my father) that can't see their own faults.

I also never claimed to be an expert, but I did grow up as a JW my whole life and have my whole life to judge what this organization does as well as teach. I have been taught according to JW doctrine what Jehovah approves and doesn't approve. According to the FDS literature in their "expert opinion" God does not approve of any sort of dishonesty. I'm sorry if I was taught the wrong thing. Perhaps you can let the FDS know that the JWs have been taught the wrong thing for so long and that it's time to clean house and get rid of all those people that believe such an erroneous thing as this.

I hope you learn the truth one day and wish you luck on trying to continually defend lies. And by the way, I sincerely hope that you or your family are never treated abusively or wrongly by this organization and have to live through what most of us have no choice.

Say Something Bad About The JW Organization----It's Good For You!

it's refreshing to know that we can say negative things about what we know is wrong about the society, governing body, local elders, the "brotherhood", in general------and not get censured or punished for it......i'll start.------- the organization is run more like the scribes and pharisees than jesus and his disciples.

christ reached out to everyone.

the scribes and pharisees treated everyone else like they were inferior, "worldly", not good enough.

The terrible guilt they instill in every person there if they don't abide by or change their attitude. Also the ability of many who don't agree with, but are somehow able to tell themselves that it is their own sinful tendancy for not embracing certain rules and then they just ignore their thoughts and act as if the FDS is right.

I find it so sad SCIZM that you continue to exept sin from your leaders as if God approves. What is good for the goose is good for the gander and the Society doesn't believe in this rule. They are making excuses for their behavior by saying it is "spiritual warfare". THIS IS NOT THEIR WAR!!!!! God does not approve of lieing or decieving from anyone and that include THEM.

They are human beings that BELIEVE God is using them and so they think that they have the RIGHT to do wrong. God does not work that way and Jesus NEVER instructed anyone to wage any type of Spiritual Warfare. It may be hard to get it through your thick head, but they are doing wong and it is people like you that they are duping.

It seems so unbelievable that this is happening, but they do not have YOURS or any other witnesses best interest in mind. They are selfish and they are liars and in the end they really don't care if you or your family is crushed by their agenda. You and all the other JW's are just a means to the end.(money). If something bad happens they will just turn around and justify it all with a scripture.

A possible reason WHY, the 'New System' was never a Reality to us.

perhaps i'm wrong, but this is a possible explanation.i was always taught that a new system would soon replace the old one.

in this new system there would be no more war, everyone would eat from his own 'fig tree', they would build houses and love one another.. .

in every publication that depicted this new system.....it was a picture of a beautiful lush productive earth, people were carrying baskets of vegetables and fruit walking together being of different decent, the men were bulding houses with smiles on their faces, and the children were playing with the animals.

I don't think any JW has really thought about whether any of this stuff is even possible let alone true.

It doesn't make any sense, but look at how many JW's there are that are buying it.

As far as the bird thing goes, I remember that whole story when I was a kid and I was really scared. We lived on a farm and there did seem to be so many crows, magpies and hawks.The hawks would attack you and the magpies would eat our baby rabbits. So you can imagine the images of flesh eating birds after the big A going through my mind.

all i was trying to do was find some mutual respect for my decision but she started smacking, punching, pushing me.

soon after, she threw the biggest tantrum and it disgusted me to see her acting in such a manner.

Sorry D for having to go through that. It must be painful for you!

I admire that you had the guts to tell your mom personally. I did it through a letter because I knew how my mom would react and I just didn't want to see or hear it.

Keep strong though, it may take time for your mom to adjust. She looks at it like it is a death sentence because that is what she has been taught. Hopefully she will come around and see that it will all be ok.

i am hoping there are others of you that have the same feelings as my self and can help me to move on from them!.

currently i am in therapy due to different things that have happened in my life (not just to do with the witnesses!!

) and i thought it would be good to share my last session with you.. as a jw you are given your goal in life- your point.

Hi Becks,

You sound so lost. Maybe you aren't, but it does sound like you have not found a purpose. I work with girls/women that have eating disorders. And most of them sound like you. They just can't find a way to find some real joy and a driven purpose. I don't know if this helps, but it is worth it to keep searching. Growing up JW has caused so many allusions about life and in the REAL world none of those allusions exist. It makes reality more difficult than it needs to be. So it takes time to adjust and find what we need to live in this world peacefully with ourselves.

There are so many people on this board that are supportive of the unique situations many of us came from. I hope you find it helpful and healing
