by sabastious inlets face it, we don't know what humans are.
science is doing a good job at uncovering many facts about us, but even science cannot explain consciousness yet.
conciousness is still a strong mystery to us.

Buried my father today
by littlerockguy ini mostly post fluff and music posts on this thread more often now but just thought i would let some people here who still know me about what has been goin on with me recently.
my dad about a 7 month battle with lung cancer which metastasized to the bones and he died early wed morning.
my dad was a fascinating man, complex, sometimes open and sometimes a very aloof and detached person.

Newbie here
by aristeas insome forums/boards have a greetings section for newbies, but i couldn't find one here, so i guess i should post here.. i was an active witness in the 70s and 80s but decided i couldn't conscientiously continue participating so i just dropped out.
unlke many others, i don't have witness family.
thus it was easy to just move & drop out.

99 Problems, but Snow Isn't One of Them
by leavingwt inhere in the deep south, summer weather (torture) has arrived.
on thursday of this week, the actual temperature will be 101 degrees f. the humidity, as shown in the screenshot below, will be at least 47%.
this equals to a 'feels like' temperature of at least 118 degrees f. .

96 here in Baltimore today. Weather index says it feels like 105. It does. I also will be glad when fall arrives. I can deal with the cold--not the heat.

New to this group
by up on the mountain inthis is john from ny - first i want to thank those of you who welcomed me into the group.
this is my second post.
i have never been a jw, but have always been interested in their theology and things religious.... i have a degree in theology and have always been interested in religion....i have been going to the convention in pa for 32 years.
