  I also like how they left out the end of his quote about "rearranging the past".

  My mom is stepping up her not-so-subtle mind games with kids.

  my mom and her new husband (robo-elder with gb connections) have been trying to undermine us as parents so i have been on the offensive stopping it.

  we recently left to another state to get away from the jws.

  she has been sending letters to my oldest daughter about the assembly.

  Thanks ... we'll see what happens. Haven't heard any response back so far yet.
  
  Yesterday my oldest child was reading a book that my mom got for her. As she was reading a little note fell out that said, "We Miss You!". It was small enough that it went undetected when we scanned everything for guilt-inducing paraphernalia. While the note in itself doesn't seem that harmful - it actually is when in tandem with the WT literature she included and the pictures of "Witness" family members all doing fun stuff together in our old town. The purpose of those things is to make my daughter mad at us for moving her away.
  
  It is one of the few times our daughter has cried because she misses our old town.
  
  So that was why I left that message yesterday on her phone. We'll have no more of it.
  
  I am sure she is passing my voicemail around to family up there and saying that I cut her off.
  
  Oh well.

  She is still not returning my calls. I finally left a voicemail with the details. We'll see what happens.
  
  This is what I said:

  Hey mom. I'm not sure if you left your phone back home or whatever, but I wanted to talk to you.
  
  Since I am not getting any return calls I wanted to let you know that all future mailings to [child name] and [child name] will be returned to you unopened, unless you call so we can clear some things up.
  
  All of your subtle and not-so-subtle jabs at us as parents have been duly noted and we will have no more of it.
  
  You stepped way over the line mom. I was originally going to call and give you one last chance to send something to the girls that was genuine and not passive-aggressive, but after the little note dropped out of [child name]'s book I know there is no limit to what you will do. I remember all too well as I was growing up the guilt you heaped on us.
  
  So it ends now.
  
  If you would like to remain in contact with the girls (which I think as a grandparent you should), you need to call me first.
  
  It sucks to have to say all this and I'm sure you are just listening and shaking your head in that condescending manner that you do. Just remember I do love you, but you are not their parents. We are.

  We recently left to another state to get away from the JWs.
  
  She has been sending letters to my oldest daughter about the assembly. There was a demo at the assembly about how a kid didn't listen to his non JW dad and decided instead to be a JW. She wrote about it in the letter to my daughter. My daughter will not get the letter until she is older.
  
  Yesterday we got a big collage of pictures from where they live. She sends them from time to time to let us know how much "fun" they are having and they wish we were there. One of the collages is of the district convention (yuck!). She put the convention program in the collage too and highlighted the part on "Avoiding an independant spirit" and also put the tract in the collage that they distributed before the convention - and in the little coupon on the back for a FREE HOME BIBLE STUDY she put my daughter's names and address in it!
  
  There were also pictures of their newly remodeled home office and all the pictures of family members were there - except our family.
  
  Naturally I am fuming mad about it, but my mom will not return my calls. I wanted to talk to her personally about it, but I guess if she doesn't return my call today I will leave it in voicemail that she is not to send that kind of stuff again. If she chooses to keep sending it it will be returned to her unopened. She has ONE more chance.
  
  Just felt like I needed to document this somewhere.

  ya know... i'm a bit amazed at times at how utterly out of touch with reality jw's can be.

  here's a little bit of a background of what's been going on....

  i've been having an on going issue with my jw family about my husband & i(and our 4 young children) no longer going to meetings and us having questions/problems with this religion.we are not df'd nor da'd (at this point) but have not been to a meeting in about 7 months and have been inactive for probably 3-4 years now.we haven't lived near my parents for several years so they have been a little "in the dark" so to speak as to us being inactive but we kinda were given a bit of "lee-way" since 5 yrs.

  but i thought jw's were the only ones preaching about jesus and the end ... .

  'end times' religious groups want apocalypse soon.
