Annointed: yearly figures

is it my imagination.... or did the numbers of "annointed" partaking in the lords evening meal go up by 5 people this year?.
what explanation can make any sense at all about this?

Just to let you know we are making a change in policy. We think 144,000 is far too low a number for your government. We have decided the work force would be overstretched on that figure, so hereby notify you that it is now 160,000. Dont worry about how we will back that up by scripture. Our elect are already working on scriptures to show this change. It will be published in Aprils edition of the Watchtower.

by Yvonne A ini'm just new to this internet stuff and am studying with the jehovah's witnesses at present.please don't take my lack of knowledge as cheek.
i just want to know if it's meant to be only jehovah's witnesses using this site.
i fully intend to become baptised but was wondering if there's any security to prevent people who shouldn't be using the site and are maybe abusing it from doing so.

havent seen the woman i study with since i started posting on here. but i see her on Tuesday, and have a long list...........
1914 and 1975 for starters, i know there are other dates i cant remember them
changes in baptism questions
not being allowed to ask questions without fear of disfellowshipping
disfellowshipping in general - sounds awful, especially friends and family not being allowed to talk - tragic
etc etc etc. dont think i will get much time for studying anything on the next study visit

Yeah I know, so much warmth and laughter here i figured you lot were human after all, and not the devils spawn as id been led to believe.
if i get anywhere near a baptismal, it will certainly be with my eyes wide open (figuratively speaking of course)
time will tell, but for now, this is fun. i will have my kids reporting me to the bods at the kh soon, just so they can get the computor back!!

Welcome Chance. You have lots of knowledge and lost me a bit. lots of words and i get lost easily.
Ive had burning questions for as long as i can remember about things that dont add up. if youve ever read the King James version, John 1.1, it says 'in the beginning was the word and the word was with god and the word was god'. New World translation says '...and the word was a god'. One simple word, but it changes Jesus from being God, to being less than God.
all very confusing.

Hello Yvonne and Welcome
I, like you am studying with a jw. i have been for the last 18 months and i have been to a few meetings. i joined this site because a friend sent me some information on brainwashing. damn cheek i thought at the time. but that friend told me to be objective and look at things from all angles. i realised if i didnt, then i could be classed as being brainwashed. I was warned by jws about checking out these sites. was told they were full of apostates who would do anything to ruin Jehovas reputation, that they were full of lies, twisted and bitter (sorry you guys). anyway, i still thought it in my best interests to check. didnt know what to expect so lurked around for a couple of weeks, looking at what was said.
instead of seeing bitter twisted people just out to ruin Jehovas name, i found people with some pretty tough experiences, people with all sorts of backgrounds and tales to tell. Normal, ordinary people. many of whom just have a bad, or many bad experiences of being involved with jws.
check it out for yourself. only you can decide. i was planning on being baptised in april. that wont be happening now. i dont know if it will happen at all. i cant say yet. its early days. watch this space............
hope you enjoy this forum as much as me. there are people on here with a wealth of knowledge if you have a question - im not one of them! but ive asked many questions, and everyone has been answered. its a great laugh. im sure you will love it.

Unforgivable Sin?
by Low-Key Lysmith ini seem to remember back in my jw days, a scripture that said something to the effect that if you publicly denounce jehover, you would never be forgiven of it?
i really want to bring this up to my ever-persistant family as a good reason for me not to come back to meetings and try to be reinstated.
i have already told them that i will never, ever, ever come back, that i don't even believe in god per-se.

well ive always puzzled over this.....still dont know for sure. but i thought it maybe could be for those who actually saw miracles take place, then turned their back on god. kind of like seeing the red sea parted (lets face it, who would be in any doubt there was something a wee bit supernatural about that) then disobeying god after that. for those people, if that wasnt enough to convince them God was on their side, then nothing would be. If i was backed up against the sea with all my enemies on my tail, and the sea opened up and parted, id be pretty confident God was on my side.
