Annointed: yearly figures

Is it my imagination.... or did the numbers of "annointed" partaking in the lords evening meal go up by 5 people this year?

What explanation can make any sense at all about this?

No mistake -that is what I saw in the figures too. Anyway - what does it mean - many more think the yshould go to heaven - many think that becasue they are severely perecuted that they are anointed - if they keep increasing many loyal JWs will want an explanation

I don't think it's your imagination.....that's exactly what happened. It's that nasty little secret that JWs refuser to even talk about amongst themselves.

I asked my wife about it and she turned crimson red in the face and beat a hasty retreat.

I think the change is a result of changing light, which resulted in previously annointed brothers and sisters passed on to the other side to become "marked" and cast from heaven. This allowed a few current Jehovah's Witnesses, purer in their following of current "light" to replace them in these last days.

Lets see how many 70+ year old think they are annointed in the next few years!

Not to count how many more in the countries in which are gathering increases (kosovo, etc)..... :-)

well what if perhaps a person who is a born again christian attends with a friend who is a witness and partakes of the bread and wine (which they most certainly would do... even if they are the only ones partaking)... the brothers count this person as a partaker, don't they?

No - it is the discretion of the body of elders. I know because this happened a few times in our congregation and we did not even advise the society - we just did not count them

Blimey - it went up by THIRTY in 2002.

The easiest explanation is that as they are very old and many suffer ill health, they missed previous Memorials (which explains an arificial increase) - I am, of course, pre-empting a JW explanation.

We have decided the work force would be overstretched on that figure, so hereby notify you that it is now 160,000. Dont worry about how we will back that up by scripture. Our elect are already working on scriptures to show this change. It will be published in Aprils edition of the Watchtower.
