My wife wrote to the society ( 1988) about how to deal with her apostate husband and his willingness to OK a blood transfusion for the children. I found the reply in the back of a desk file and was not happy with the answer- in short get a divorce. Anyway, I called up Ray Franz and he matched up the letter writer's code in the corner with his name. I called Bethel service desk and asked to speak to brother so and so. I told him I knew he wrote the letter to my wife and that if anymore letters came from them that hurt my scriptual standing as husband I would pay him a personal visit. Three months later I needed to call him again- another letter. When I called the desk they told me he had just died unexpectedly that week.
I had a good alibi.
peace,
Moshe

The Jensen Letters
by IT Support inthe jensen letters is the name given to a series of letters between an elder in the united states and the watchtower society, over the period 1998 to 2003, and neatly illustrate the plight of thinking jehovah's witnesses trying to make sense of the society's blood policy.
they are remarkable in terms of both the incisive questions asked about critical aspects of the blood policy and the society's incompetent attempts at 'spin' and sidestepping awkward issues.
even more remarkably, they conclude with the writer's letter of resignation as an elder!

Looks like to me that some Witnesses are coming to realize the "End" is not coming anytime soon- so what's the point in shunning a relative anymore? The WT leadership is starting to lose absolute control over it's membership, I believe. peace, Moshe

I've never had JW's come to my home since we moved here 4 years ago. The former owners were Jewish ,just like us. I figure they have a special note for our address on their territory card. I did talk to two young Mormon women down the street one day this fall. They were raking the leaves for a lady who had shown them some interest. They were from Utah doing their Mission thing for us here in Indiana. Does anyone else need some free chores done? At least you get some material benefits from a Mormon Bible study!

questions I would like to ask the CO- ,
-have you ever lied to the publishers?
do you have a pension plan for retirement?
What ever happened to the king of the north ( Russia)?
Why does Jehovah keep replacing the annointed remnant replacements who fall away from the truth- doesn't an omnipotent God see into the future and pick someone who wouldn't disqualify himself. Why does the number of partakers stay at 8000 year after year- going on 20 years now.
Are you happy?
When are you going to stop lying?
peace,
Moshe

Does the Watchtower Society Monitor this Board???
by integ inmaybe this has been addressed before, but after reading certain comments about people being "outed", i wonder if the wts really monitors this site?
if so, to what extent?
or is it just individual elders etc.?.

I have a website for UAW workers at a recently closed plant here in my city. In checking my IP statistics I found that 8% of the visitors to my website used windows 2000 OS. That is the operating system my company uses.Individuals use Winows 98,ME,XP for the most part. Some high up salary guys were monitoring all the posts out of some morbid curiosity, I guess. You have to be a pretty high salary grade to have internet access in that company. Do Belthelites have internet access? The smart ones could probably use wifi from their upper floor rooms to get free unmonitored web access or they use a pda phone like mine- Sprint charges $15mo extra for unlimited intenet browsing. That's what I would use, a web capable cellphone, and I would never let anyone have access to it. done watching over my shoulder, Moshe

What was your first Apostasy?
by Dune ini'm re-reading 1984 and the similarities between the wtbs and the "party" astound me, but anyway, it made me think of the time when i started to get doubts (thoughtcrime).. i remember once at this book study a sister commented about the 1914 and was reciting it's historical accuracy.
anyway, she went on to mention that the demons were probably learning everything about biblical prophecies from the wtbs.
i was 13 at the time but the comment made me cringe, i was thinking "why would superior beings need humans to interpret the bible for them?

I was appointed an elder and I knew I would have been disfellowshiped if I was honest about some of my private life. I always figured that the spirt-directed elders in Brooklyn would somehow not approve my appointment- wrong! Ha-ha- I knew from that point on that Jehovah was not piloting this ship. So I guess I had a secret apostasy, in that I did not believe the F&DS were chosen or directed by Jehovah. It took me 12 years to get out. I tried to ease out and take my wife with me - she was a stubborn one. I slipped up one day and told my wife that I would sign for a blood transfusion for the kids if they ever needed one. I was an official apostate from that day forward. peace, Moshe

Every upgrade that AOL gives us has new tools to push advertising on it's members. I remember when Netzero came out- it was free and supported by advertising. We paid $19.95 for AOL because it didn't have advertising. Look how AOL has pulled a trick on it's subscribers. I called once to see how I could turn off the distracting video ads that arrived with my latests and best upgrade a couple years ago.- you can't I was told. I have AOL because I get it for $8.00 month - it used to be $3.00 /mo through work . Then the company stopped subsidising it. AOL bumped us up to $8.00 month- Now you see the real actual cost - all the rest is pure profit ,thanks to advertising revenue.
Shalom,
Moshe

A New Trend for JW Baby Boomers?
by NYCkid ini'm sure this topic has come up before but i'm new here :-) since many of us are offspring of the baby boomer generation or of a generation earlier, i've noticed a trend.
my parents and their siblings who largely grew up as witnesses are now entering or have entered retirement age.
although my parents were generally hard working and responsible people, they have little retirement savings.

The JW's my age who were doing carpet cleaning when I quit in 1988 will still be cleaning carpets in their golden years to pay their bills. WE have a very large generation which could revolt from the KH, but their pride keeps them from admitting they were duped by the Brooklyn F&D Slave. I have started to see some obituaries already of some former JW friends , now 50-60 yrs old who have already passed on. It's sad.
peace,
Moshe
