  marrying younger spouses

  my wife passed away 2 years ago we had been married over 30 years, i have since remarried and my new wife is younger than 3 of my children from my first marriage.

  i just wondering if there are any more like me out there.

  i stay in excellent shape for my age, work out almost daily eat good and have absolutely no medical problems or at least none i can do anything about, bad knees, but my vitals are excellent, and i am known as the teenage because of them when i have my yearly medical checkup.. so was wondering if there are others out there like me, and what some may think about it, just for the record i am extremely happy once again, and we have a 18 month boy who delights me, have a whole new outlook on fatherhood and child raising.

  I visited the Philippines in 1998- a HS friend of mine was working for a company over there- engineer on some industrial project and he invited me to hook up with him for a 10 days. I met many American men at the hotels/resort who were in town meeting girls for marriage. I found it flattering at first to have 20-25 year old girls wanting my attention, but I couldn't relate to them. They brought nothing to a relationship except baby making and 100 cousins who wanted $$ help. I did meet two americans at the airport who had retired to the PI with their native wives- yes, a big age difference, but it was socially acceptable in their society. One man's wife was a doctor- his pension was more than her income- they had a modest home ( by our standards) and a cook/housekeeper. The beaches were very nice- floating tiki bars, too.

  I am 5 years older than my wife-- I am glad it is no more. We have the same interests in music and our life experiences are similar- we both remember Kennedy's assasination.

  mouthy, enjoy your time-- leave the stress behind!

  I have seen a person's legacy disappear in about six months after they leave this cracker factory. It's a lot of work to post here and really no tangible benefit for those of us who have been out for many, many years. It's worth considering that 20-30 years as an ex-JW advocate/counselor will get you exactly $0/mo come retirement time.

  New Flying cars by 2021

  The flying car is a possibilty for people who have never flown an airplane- I don't see it ever happening. After a few crashes into unseen powerlines, running out of fuel above a subdivision, over gross takeoffs with a crash and burn explosion in the shopping center, well, the cities will pass ordinances banning flying cars-- so the only place they can operate is from an airport-- not much of a reason to buy one, when a real airplane flies 2x faster and has 2x greater range.

  where do jehovah's witnesses get all their contrary ideas and doctrines?.

  isn't it directly from heaven because they are "anointed" and have been selected as jehovah's channel of communication?.

  I met some of the original anointed back in the early 70's- a handful of them had separate 'tower studies on Sunday afternoon, -Needless to say, that didn't sit well with the "official" KH leadership. They all had extensive collections of Russell's books, too. I never met any anointed who was special in any way- other JWs thought they were and the special honor fed upon itself- of course, everyone was saying the end was only a few years away and not once did I hear an anointed JW ever publicly go against the official WT , stay alive 'til 75 timeline. After 1975, I could sense that the anointed became just chopped liver in the KH. Looking back, those original ones had put all their hopes into 1975, too. They went down with the ship mentally and passed on. By the 1980's all those original ones I knew had died-

  July Watchtower Should You Trust Religion?

  i had great sport reading this and applying the questions to the jw's.

  "similarly, it is wise to examine religion carefully.

  if you belong to a religious organization, you are, in effect, putting your spiritual life in its hands.

  Biggest issue effecting apostates

  i got to thinking today & you know what i think the single biggest issue effecting apostates are.

  its they cannot unite and this is what gives the watchtower the upper hand.

  what needs to happen (and quite honestly i don't think it will)they all have to come under one common body.

  Being an ex-JW/apostate is not important to my daily life- in fact, those who turn this anti-WT agenda into a fulltime quest will take time away from secular work, retirement planning and having healthy relationships with regular people.- I have stayed longer than I should have, as the revolving door of new faders looks the same as the group who came through last year- and the year before that, etc. I am curious to see how JWs handle the new idea that the GB is the F&DS and forget that the worldwide annointed were part of the F&DS. I would bet that there won't be any revolt at the KH.

  The leaning Tower of Pisa hasn't fallen over yet and with similar human intervention the GB will keep the WT publishing company in business servicing the JW community- meat in due season is coming your way!

  What is the most damning watchtower publication?

  i want to purchase a couple of vintage watchtower publications to help in my helping jw's break free.

  some of the older ones are expensive or hard to come by - i know you can buy them on cd's but i'd like to own one or two of the "classics of propaganda"- some of the ones that speak for themselves as to the ridiculousness of this religion.. of course any magazine i pick up today speaks to me of the ridiculousness, but you need something much more hardcore for the jw's.. any recommendations?.

  "children" has some pretty good quotes in it..

  I have a 1920 WT-- The JWs run away when they see the part underlined for a study by a sister "millions now living will never die" - You would think they would get all excited just holding that prophetic peice of work from the Judge--

  years ago i would spend every morning before work at a local coffe shop with an interesting group of men.

  one of them was a muslim, one was a rabbi, one was an atheist, one was a business man and then--there was me.. somehow or other the rabbi and i were always left as the last of the group talking alone with each other.. one day i got on the subject of bible translations.

  i asked his opinion.. and the rabbi spoke to me saying: "in judaism we hold it to be an inviolable rule: all translations are lies!".

  Even when I was a JW I was suspiscious of the story of Josiah's priests finding the lost book of the law- and after seeing the Torah held up before the congregation at Temple hundreds of times I can tell you it is huge- no way do you misplace something that big- it's not like they had a dusty basement. I think Josiah had a new version created- a reform version and that is what happened.

  First, I finds me some fresh meat that is all natural, no chemical additives. I skins it and roasts it over a charcoal fire- then I cuts it up real nice- like fajita meat, only smaller- makes a nice taco.
