a couple of days ago i ran into a jw at my job at walmart.

she is a single lady around 50 years old and she looked terrible.

i asked how she was,(she always talks to me) and she related how she had lost her job and had to work two low paying jobs.

That's awful Beachbender - before joining this site, I really believed that family members could associate with their disfellowshipped relatives (I'm assuming you are). Do your children ever see their grandmother? Have they ever? Whatever your mother may believe regarding you, how can she justify rejecting 2 innocents?

this happened almost three years ago, but since i always enjoy reading about other people's jw encounters, i thought i'd finally share one of my own.. i lived in an apartment for four years following my disfellowshipping and no one had ever come to my door, not even so much as a shepherding visit.

) i had lurked on this board for a while, but was put off by the anger and negativity of some people and so i didn't stay long.

I remember this Elsewhere - it was in Australia, and it was a beam of light I think.

The trouble with a lot of JW is they know very little about a lot of subjects, and they think they have their collective finger on the pulse.

At What Age Should Children Go Alone In The Ministry Work?

i was 9 years old when i first started knocking on doors.

i only did the magazine work, however, my friend adrian was doing the full sermon routine when he was 9. so were lot's of kids, girls too.. crazy..just crazy.. what's the policy these days?

did anyone here also go knocking on doors at a very young age?.

I have no idea what the current policy is, if indeed there is one.

I think it's criminal to send children out like this - they have NO hope of answering any questions that require a degree of knowledge - it isn't fair to either the child OR the householder.

the march 15 watchtower contains two items about the blood issue.. first, it mentions a young witness named elena, who as "one of jehovah's witnesses,.

would not donate blood or accept blood transfusions" (pg18).. second, it contains a question from readers that appears as perfect an example of muddled.

watchtower-think as could ever be imagined.

Most dubs don't even know why they do or don't do something. They do what the watchtower says.

Totally agree - and by the same token, maybe the writing and content is just going to get / is getting sloppy - as who really cares?

Just got back from the 2004-2005 circuit assembly here are a few thoughts.

upon arriving i ran into lots of old friends and really enjoyed seeing everyone and visiting.

they dont know that im currently struggling with doubts about the organization and they think that im the same old zealous brother.

i couldnt help but feel a sence of guilt visiting with them about our current number of publishers and how many we had pioneering ect.

if jws have got to go to these extremes for their kids to stay interested in their studies, perhaps some real examination of what they are studying is needed!

another post that i was on triggered a memory of something that happened in the late 60's???

two members of the gb... in canada were on the platform.they obviously knew each other quite well.

one offered to the other that he was good for a....can't remember the (insult brit type) laugh that was raised but even then i thought it was out of line.

I don't know about the early 70s Poztate - but on a scale of 1-10, I would guess 3 - 4. It isn't a term I use, but it is quite common.

Paddy (for Irish) and Taffy (for Welsh) are not offensive and are often used by natives.

To be honest, I'm not 100% convinced that JW actually read/comprehend/analyse (etc) the literature as well as the ex-JW do!!!!!
