  Not on JW.Org: Will Armagedon arrive for Jehovah's witnesses before 12:00 Pm EST 10/2/2014 ??

  Jehovah likes the Eastern Standard time zone best. Also whites, Americans, and men. That is who founded and run his super special organization, so he likes them best.

  i was wondering how many of you suffered badly with depression when you were in "the truth" and if you feel your depression was related to being part of the organisation?

  are you better now you have left or still have issue's?

  Yes and no. I struggled with a lot of emotions and difficulties in understanding how life works, thanks to the cult brainwashing and lifestyle. To say it was hard seems to vastly understate it.

  I wouldn't say I was clinically depressed. What helped is getting out. The sadness lifted immediately and vanished after a year or so.

  As a mental health professional (former clinician), I guess I've been thrown into the group that allegedly has consensus on this subject, so I would like to comment.

  "Not caring what others think is a hallmark trait of antisocial behavior, sociopaths and psychopaths"

  Yes. It is also a trait of other things, such as a balanced self concept, healthy coping skills and some normal personality types such as INTJ.

  Pathological or criminal disregard for the rights and wishes of others, in the context of DSM criteria for Antisocial Personality Disorder, is an entirely separate thing from "not caring what others think of them" as described in the OP.

  share yours, i'll start if off, i have a few i heard from the platform or from other jw's.

  one from the platform, a witch was studying with jw's, and she had a relationship with demons/spirits.

  when she was studying they turned on her and threatened her if she didn't stop.

  My mom use to tell us about the little Cupid that was a foot tall that raped a woman over and over until she threw away a necklace that was under the carpet.

  I was going to respond to this thread with the general topic of demon rape. I don't remember anything specific other than demons attacking women in their beds at night. OMG I believed that when I was a child. How preposterous!

  Anyway, your story takes the cake.

  Now for the mechanics of a 12-inch-tall being successfully and repeatedly attacking a full-grown adult is hard to compute. How did he subdue her? With his little arrows?

  Not to mention penis size. This is Cupid, so let's be generous and say it was 4 inches. Even so...how does that even work as a weapon on an adult woman...

  With these demon rape stories, why do none of the women get pregnant? And what would this one give birth to, Cupie dolls?

  The publications used to say it was fornication if you did not call for help and fight back during a rape attempt. Did that happen in these cases? I don't remember any of them claiming to have called out.

  so, about a decade ago there was a big scandal in my city concerning an young elder raping his 13 year old sister in law.

  the elder got reproved but was never turn over to the police.

  the girl's mom was an immigrant and very uneducated and decided it was best to forgive after the elders, whom one was the young elders dad, instructed her to remain silent and rely on jehovah.

  If you have evidence that the assault occurred, why not contact the authorities yourself?

  Seriously. He has public trust in his position as a firefighter and as such may have increased access to potential victims. You would be doing a public service if you wrote a note to the ethics committee of your government, with a cc to the police department, providing dates, names and all details possible.

  Doing so may very well save one or many from being raped.

  Also, justice would be a legitimate motive for turning him in. He ruined this poor girl's life and her family's, and now he's collecting a nice salary and benefits package from you the taxpayers, with greater ability to reoffend.

  It's interesting (some of) the rank and file are so orgasmic. Why?

  a) Anything the GB does is exciting because they have little else to get excited about.

  b) They're finally entering the 20th century with this newfangled technology. (Yes, I meant 20th.)

  c) They're hoping the site will do so well they won't have to preach at all anymore.

  d) They love the new campaigns that only require them to tell people to visit a website--no memorizing "overcoming objections" from the Reasoning book (or whatever they're using nowadays).

  e) Orgasms are an appropriate response to GB innovations.

  i literally just sat there with my mouth open.

  sometimes the delusional mind of jws takes steroids.. it was during the draw close to jehovah study where they praise the mosaic law and how perfectly wonderful it was.

  you should have seen the almost giddy attitude the conductor had and the comments from the audience.

  so last night i was talking to my sister about how i admired president obama's speech to the u.n that happened earlier that day.. i then compared the extremism of isis to how much of a fanatic my jw bil is.. at the end of the statement , my mom walked in to the kitchen.

  she was standing in the living room and she heard everything i said.. she called the elders that night to tell them what i said so they can counsel me.. i'm going to meet with them after the meeting on sunday!.

  what do i do?!!!!!.
