  congregational cliques

  it was my experience during my 13 yrs as a jw that congregations usually had a social clique.

  in other words, there would be a group of people in a congregation that would only associate (and sometimes only go out on field service too) with people within that social clique.

  if you were in the clique, fine.

  Good topic. I had alot of experiences dealing with that. I was always on the outside looking in. Even though I was a dedicted JW, something was always missing. I never really fit in, never fit the mold. Eventually you become used to it. I stopped going to any witness social gatherings about 10 years ago. I even stopped going to all weddings, because I didn't have to come home feeling like there was something wrong with me. That was a big part of why I eventually left the organization. As for service, I usually went with my family. It was alot safer that way.

  An Appalling Lack Of Manners & Social Graces

  is it just me or are a lot of jehovahs witnesses just completely mannerless and lacking in social graces?.

  examples....... they don't seem to say thank you for gifts or kindnesses.. i went to quite a few gatherings and burps and farts would happen without so much as a pardon me or excuse me.

  i was even told once it's natural and there is no reason to say excuse me.. they will just stop in at your house if they are in the neighborhood and stay for however long without even calling or getting your hints that you happened to be on your way out.. i have met some very nice and polite witnesses but they are few and far between.. is my experience limited - has anyone else noticed rudeness, and a lack of manners and social graces?.

  I don't know if you read my post the other day, but the elders used to search my car during the meeting for inappropriate music if I forgot to lock it. And even if I did I caught them peering through the windows. I was never accepted very well at get togethers either. Always people in their cliques, and I wasn't invited to join.

  I used to hate when they were out in service on Saturday, and you weren't. They always made it a point to stop in and use the bathroom early in the morning and wake me up. Find a frickin public toilet you rude pricks.

  I tried, and then in one meeting I went from the verge of being a MS to being reproved. Short form of the story is: I was doing awesome when I was narced out for getting drunk over a year prior at my bachelor party. I was accussed of being a drunk, like I was hammered all the time. Stupid! But one of the elders in the hall was known for being tipsy at every wedding. Go figure. Just more proof it's just a bunch of average guys on a power trip, who think they're God.

  the creation book

  when the tsuami, not sure if i spelled that correctly, hit and information poured in my husband made a comment i had never even thought of, the news report that he was watching had scientists on explaining how the t had actually nocked the earth off its orbital course, to which he says, " i guess they will have to throw out the creation book now", of course meaning the references in the book about how life could not exist under any circumstances other than the current orbit,etc.

  well, now that the earth is rotating on a different orbit, life still exists.

  p.s., i am not a scientist in any way and if i have explained this incorrectly, feel free to enlighten me.

  What kind of music do you listen to?

  i like to listen to alot of music.

  i am mostly a hard rocker, godsmack, soil, marilyn manson.

  i also like alot of rap, snoop, g-unit, kanye west, xzibit.

  I just started a new band. We're calling ourselves Middle Finger Mayhem (MFM). I found a bitchin guitar player, and I can sing/scream pretty damn good. We,re gonna do a bunch of originals, and some good cover tunes. We do an awesome version of the Stones "Paint it Black". When we get a show together I'll post it on here, so anybody who can come and check it out is more than welcome.

  "I noticed you are on a JW site, DID YOU KNOW I AM A JW?????"

  i was at university the other night in the computer lab, cruising this site, well a fellow classmate who has been in my class since sept and we have become friends, walks past, looks at the site i am on and says, "i noticed you are on a jw site, did you know i am a jw, are you one?".

  i was shocked.

  i turned to him and let loose,.
