i have never really shared my experience growing up as a jw, but feel it is time to share.
i am 26 years old and was raised as a jw from birth.
i left the jw when i was 14 by actions and 21 by a written letter, because i was baptised at the age of 11. .
Welcome,
Thank you for sharing your story. I look forward to hearing more from you in the future. There were parts of your story that sounded hauntingly familiar ... have you ever lived in KY??

Joelbear,
I don't know you, but I have sensed that we have much in common.
When you make statements like, Jehovah’s Witnesses are stupid, hateful, evil, etc, you are talking about my mother, my friends, people who I love dearlyHere, you are eloquently expressing feelings that I struggle with daily. My only concern is that you be careful . Please don’t let your love for your mother, friends, and others become more important than your love for self. Please don’t put yourself in the position where you are sacrificing who and what you are to remain acceptable to those whom you love.
I know that it may not sound possible right now … but it is possible to make different choices and detach from others with respect and love. You don’t have to agree with them or chose their way of life to love them ….. any more than you have to hate them to disagree.
I want you to know that your posts have meant something to me. I am glad that I have had the opportunity to tell you that. I hope to hear from you again soon.
Edited because I suddenly lost a grip on forum code ...

i am interested in people's opinions on this.... is or is not cybersex cheating?
To be honest ... cybersex never did anything for me .... It was kinda like looking at a porn mag or something ... no substance .....
Phone sex ... now that could be cool ......
I don't think I would view it as cheating ..... unless of course my husband did it ....lol.

today i experienced the absolute "climax" in my life .
the first words he spoke to us, when we asked him about the state of health of my aunt, were: .
at this moment we were aware of the fact that my aunt always spoke the truth about this man; but she was unable to help herself.
Erich,
I am sorry to hear about your loss. I am in agreement with the other posters who advise you to speak to the authorities. My thoughts will be with you. Please keep us updated.

i'm so upset the more i read and find out about the society.
its all hard to take for me but i'm accepting it more and more.
the problem i have is that i want so bad to tell my mom what i have found out.
Flower,
Reading your post almost made me cry. I am going through a similar experience with my own parents.
I would like to offer this little tidbit. There is a LOT of help available for those who are newly blind. If your mother is unable/unwilling to attend the school, maybe you could start by making contact with your local ACB (American Council of the Blind) or NFB (National Federation of the Blind) chapter. They can provide a wealth of information and support. I know from personal experience that there is very little that a blind person cannot do.
It may be a help to your mom to talk to others who have lost their sight due to illness or injury. I would be more than happy to put her in touch with some amazingly succesful individuals who became blind after childhood.

my wife just called me at work to inform me the same 2 elders that paid us a visit the other night stopped by this morning ( while i wasn't home, of course!).
they said they wanted to talk to her about the way she felt about the organization.
she basically said the same things i did and they told her that there would be a letter of disassociation read at the next meeting.
I would like to echo the sentiments of my fine companions on the board. I think Mrs. HyTech deserves a big sloppy kiss for being so brave and MadA deserves a big sloppy kiss for being such a .... well ... for writing such a great letter!
