Hi jwfacts. That is what I am on about. Conditioning. The in-laws were admiring the effort, until we said that it was ridiculous. Then for a brief moment, they stopped, thought and agreed. Then the jw mindset kicked back in and they changed the subject!

she has it so bad, she cannot eat, only drink a little.

Thanks for the comments. I do realize it is her choice to live out her days as she wishes.
It just grates me that as mentioned she will now be held up as an example for others to follow.
The whole thing is such a waste of life...not just time. I wonder what she will think, after she passes and wakes in heaven? -

Hi All,
Today my in-laws were telling us about an old couple in their cong. Sadly the wife who is nearly 80, is dying of cancer. She has it so bad, she cannot eat, only drink a little. But, and the in-laws were so proud, the poor old "sister" was being taken around by her husband to do her "return visits" !!! He would go up to the door and get her RV's to come out to the car!
I can't believe it. The poor old lady is dying, so very little energy left, and she is doing her calls.
My wife and I said: "thats ridiculous!, she doesn't have to do that".
The in-laws then took a look at such a dumb situation and agreed.
At what point are you confident enough to be right with your god? What is the point of one more "browney point" ?
I am still spewing about it!

Just a question, the reference is that a "brother" has committed a sin some years ago, but I generally understood this to mean an elder or ms? not necessarily a R+F brother.....[just an ordinary one].
I remember reading this in the elders book when i first joined the team and was astounded that we expected the plebs to confess all, yet a
'servant body member" could get away with it. All you had to do was shut up and you were covered!

These offers to help you are shallow at the best of times. The Elder, as a freind or as an elder has had no formal training in counselling so how can he help you?
Perhaps he is genuine, perhaps he has some doubt of his own that you can exploit, perhaps not.

I agonized over what to do. Yep, he was the only one who had the balls to ask. Perhpas he did care about me...perhaps.
So I linked a couple of my concerns. Let's face it, if he was genuine, he would look at what I am having trouble with and try to understand.
Funny thing, I haven't heard back from him yet!!! Perhaps he hasn't checked his email.
But I did ask him to leave me alone if he didn't want to openly and honestly discuss the situation. -

Apart from the obvious rip off that neverendingjourney shares with us, A local elder might introduce a visiting speaker, who then uses this dramatic illustration, he would then proceed to guilt/shame/bore the hell out of the audience for the next forty minutes. When he finished they would then move into a song, the an hour "study" [no study involved...recital of pre-pared ansewrs from the gb] of the WT, another song then visiting speaker prays for 15 minutes.
When do the two teenagers get to run up and talk to him directly after his "service"? and since when does the local elder then give another "service" after the visiting speaker has supposedly given his?

Strange visit
by bagpuss inafter 4 years away from meetings and no contact with the cong i attended, yesterday i answered the door to find an elder at the door.
he was po in my cong but has been removed i had heard.
he said he was calling about the disaster fund and that the society wanted to update everyones details like phone numbers and contacts.

They did have a disaster plan in times past. Different ones with equipment and so forth in case they needed it if there was a disater. Why wouldn't it include phone numbers of everyone ever connected with the borg.
Also a good way to get a foot in the door of us "ex's". Apply a little pressure and see if we are in a hurry to hand over our contact details.
Let's them see where we are in the stream on mind control......do we hand it over like they still own us, or tell the to p*#s off! Then they can start on us properly....... sounding paranoid?..... yes/no... -

please note that the knocking dvd is copyright protected and it is unlawful to make copies of the dvd, even if you are making copies for friends/family and have no intention of selling the copies.
there are reports that a number of people have been making copies of the dvd, under the assumption that it is ok for "educational purposes" or to give as gifts to friends and family.
