perhaps the sexual predators of the "world" are cutting into the sexual predators in the congo's?

"Publisher Cards"..
by young hearts, be free.. inwell it's been a while since i posted here, hope you're all well !!
i've been wondering for a while, you know those "publisher record cards" that the jw's hold which detail each "publisher", well i remember reading that they are not for the person to view, they are strictly for the elders use..if that's the case, (that bugged me even when when i was a jw) would that not be a breach of the privacy act ??
man that secret squirrel shit pissed me off !!

fjtoth:
When I was secretary, I got tired of dragging out all these old record cards of people who [knew better] had faded/moved on, so one day I just shredded heaps of them....all gone, and before I "stepped aside" I shredded all of ours bar one. They are supposed to send 8 years worth of them when and if you move. -

Do elders commit perjury
by KAYTEE inin a court of law you tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth (hand on bible) if you don't do this it could lead to a prison sentence, thats how serious lying is considered.
(by the world).
therefore when elders discuss the wellbeing of a brother or sister especially in a judicial meeting where they invite god to oversee through prayer in that meeting, if they do not get their facts correct, or worse, they lie about an individual, could this be considered to be an act of perjury, after all you could not get a greater judge than jehovah to make sure you present your facts correct and truthful to.

Most elders would say not! Then they would wouldn't they? But what about their tactics in gathering the "so-called" evidence? Legbally it would be called entrapment. AND they think that the are being clever.....well, you know spirit directed!!
Cautious as serpents, innocent as doves.
One c/o told us, that it would be in order to have a second elder listening in on another phone to witness what was said, even though the person being called would think they were only talking to one person.
What about the first go to elder, the one who might hear the "confession"? He has to retell the story to the p/o who then has to outline a sketchy story for the "body", who then decide who makes up the "jc". How straight does the story stay? depends a lot on the bent of the original hearer of confession. What if he dislikes the person, or is personally repulsed by the persons actions? He could then decide how it will go down.
elders also like the best possible accou t of themselves to be spread near and far, some are prone to stretch the truth, bend it or fabricate it depending on how their reputation would be seen. -

Just wanted to pop back in and thank you all for your comments. The other thing that happened sometime back, was my wife came across a young lady who had left the borg because she had a "worldy" boyfriend.
There was some hassle about her attendance at a wedding a bit later on. She had her invitation revoked, which was fantastic as it opened up her perspective. We were worried she may have returned due to family pressure. But while they are not married but living together she has no option to return!!
I felt sick about her, I was the big mouthed elder who "encouraged" her to get baptized! I kinda felt responsible for part of her situation.
When these kids leave the borg for moral reasons, sometimes they think it is the "truth" still. when my wife met her at the supermarket, they had one hell of a rapid fire conversation. She is happy and knows it is garbage!!! yayay............

Hi all,
I had an interesting opportunity/experience today. My family and I went out for breakfast. Afterwood we went browsing in the shops...pre-christmas.
After we purchased some items I see a man and his wife and two small children walking along. I instantly recognise him and move across to say hello. Shook his hand and then he introduced us to his wife and children.
Remarkable in the fact that I was one of the three elders who disfellowshipped him and fairly shakey grounds and have felt bad about it since and especially so after realizing that the whole thing is a crock of %#*t.
He was being extra cautious...as you would as to my actions. His wife had to take one of the children to the parents room in the shop, so I got to tell him striaght up that we dont go any more. He was astounded to say the least. We had a fairly rapid fire conversation from that point, as you do when you meet a fellow JW survivor.
I had the opportunity to apologize to him for what happended. I have felt pangs about this guy periodically, but he moved away and I didnt know where he ended up, so even though I wanted to say I was sorry, I didnt think I would ever get the chance in this life time. He absolutely bore no malice! He felt that we all did what we did because of the circumstances, just the cult mentality at work. He found himself free and being DFed gave him that chance to start again and build a better life which he is doing.
I told him I have felt sick about it all, but he was OK with it!!!
I have felt blown away all day!
Just thought that I would share that. -

by truthsearcher ini came across this site run by an active jw.
http://www.strictlygenteel.co.uk/.
there is no comment on the scans other than to say the site is being run as an alternative to "apostate sites":.

Beginning the road out.
by wozadummy inyes i'm new to this forum and i have been searching the net and reading with interest peoples comments here and on other sites.
as most know reaching out as a faithfull jw to others outside of the congregation is difficult at first ,as i guess we think anyone outside the congregation is wordly etc.
and we can't open up easily to "strangers" as jehovah would not approve.

BTTT. Man I tought I would kick this back in as a reminder to you about your stoty and insight. We all struggle with others at times. Even here where we feel skinned and thrown about and looking for a little comfort. It is easy to forget all the struggles we have on a day to day basis after coming out of the borg. Hang in there.
