I have never heard of anyone getting DFed for having friends on Facebook. Has anyone got any experience of that. I suspect it would have made a news story or something if it happened.

Has anyone ever faced reproof or JC for having a DFed relative in their Facebook list? It's sounds like this could happen. Crazy.

This is correct, only about 30% of Mormons worldwide are "active". And what they mean by active is not very active in comparison with a JW publisher who regularly attends meetings.
In all countries that include religion in the census a clear pattern emerges. Far fewer people identify themselves as Mormon than the church claims as members, whereas far more people identify as JW than the Yearbook claims as publishers.
Take Mexico for example.
Mormons claims 1.4 million members in Mexico, yet only 300,000 identify themselves as Mormon.
JWs on the other hand claim 800,000 publishers in Mexico, yet more than 1.5 million people identify themselves as JWs.
What's more, the number of Mormon congregations has been declining in Europe for years, whereas until now JW congregation numbers have increased or remained steady in most countries.
In Britian for example there are 1,613 JW congregations compared with only 333 Mormon congregations, down over 10% from a peak of 374 in 1999.
Other countries show greater Mormon decline.
In France there are 108 Mormon congregations, down from 128.
In Germany 166 down from 188.
In the Netherlands 33 down from 43.
In Italy 101 down from 133.

What are the chances of getting another Raymond Franz default from head office ?
by Chook inall regimes get defectors and some are more vocal than others..

Probably quite slim chances.
One of the most striking things about CofC is just how reluctant Raymond Franz was to leave the GB and the organisation. Despite all his doubts and differences with JW teaching and policy, he actually wanted to stay.
Sometimes I think Franz is misunderstood as having decided to leave JWs of his own accord over a "crisis of conscience" but that's not what his book actually says. He tried very hard to evade expulsion, but he apparently had some powerful enemies on the GB, and in the febrile post-1975 atmosphere they were determined to get rid of him.
It's an unusual set of circumstances that's probably unlikely to be repeated. If there are GB members with doubts or differences they are likely to stay where they are unless very strong (probably personal) motivations compel them otherwise.

Brussels Central station was evacuated Tuesday amid reports of an explosion and at least one man shot who shouted "Allahu Akbar,"
by freemindfade init looks like these attacks in europe are going from weekly, to daily, it literally gives me chills to think about traveling to europe with my family.
that is very unfortunate.

I thought I'd been to this station but I mixed it up with Bruxelles Midi which is (confusingly - for me) Brussels South. I love train stations. Brussels South (like Brussels generally) is a bit run down and old fashioned. It has a low roof a bit like a cave, but it has its own character. In the last few years police with guns have been visible at all times. So I'm not surprised the man got shot pretty quickly.
Antwerp on the other hand is a beautiful station, maybe one of the best. Don't see so many police there. I wouldn't hesitate to visit anywhere in Europe. You're far more likely to get hurt crossing the road. So be careful in the traffic and forget about the extremists.

Who holds the Burden Of Proof?
by stuckinarut2 inwhen we as former witnesses wake up and choose to leave the society, it is mainly because we value truth and honesty.. the society tries to make out that we are in the wrong.
that we have "left the truth".. but, who really holds the burden of proof?
do we (who leave) need to prove that the society is not the "truth", or does the society need to prove that it is the "truth".. thoughts?.

I found that it goes one step further than that even. I was challenged by a JW who found out about my doubts. Not only should prove to him that JWs don't have the truth. But I was challenged to answer the question: if JWs don't have the truth, then who does? The implication seemed to be that, unless I could supply a completely convincing alternative total system of truth, then JWs remain "the truth" by default.
I think there are lots of good things about JWs and I am optimistic about reform. I also think that truth is relative to the perspective you are viewing it from.

I wonder if former elders can weigh in on this:
in fact, since I voluntarily disassociated and was never disfellowshiped for wrongdoing, I could renounce my disassociation tomorrow and resume being a JW again with no restrictions whatsoever, as opposed to those disfellowshiped for wrongdoing.
I don't think that's correct, unfortunately. If you have disassociated, and if you want to return, you need to sit at the back of the hall and be shunned for six months or more, just like a DFed person, before being reinstated.
The narrative of evolution can resemble a kind of religion.
Scotland would be better off independent.
There is no such thing as fixed truth, everything is relative and subject to revision.

What a good idea for an Edwin Morgan type poem!
The time remaining is...
The time remaining is tantalising
The time remaining is infantilising
The time remaining is short skirts
The time remaining is Witness carts
The time remaining is surprising
The time remaining is revising
The time remaining is repetitive
The time remaining is a sedative
The time remaining is a saying
The time remaining ain't delaying
The time remaining is a slog
The time remaining is a panting dog
The time remaining is expectation
The time remaining is confrontation
The time remaining is reprieve
The time remaining disbelieve
The time remaining is without doubt
The time remaining - don't tire out!
The time remaining is remaining
And remaining and remaining and remaining
The time remaining is quite draining
The time remaining is not complaining
The time remaining is a lie
The time remaining death defy
The time remaining is for wimps
The time remaining creaps and limps
The time remaining is determined
The time remaining is foretold
The time remaining isn't burdened
The time remaining sure is bold
The time remaining is running out of steam
The time remaining is living in a dream
The time remaining is destructive
The rhyme pertaining is deconstructive
The wheels have fallen off the cart
The short skirts blow in the wind
And need no explaining
My friend
In the rhyme remaining
