So, who ever locked the thread and reduced Minimus’s posting limit to 25 a day, (I’m still laughing my ask off after he sent me an e-mail about that) please reconsider and do the right thing now that you know he was not serious about beating my ass (he thinks he’s Tony Soprano).

The guy’s fricken Italian. That’s how Italian guys from Boston talk about puppies and baby duckies for Christ sakes. They all think they are Tony Soprano. Just type in the words “The guy from Boston’ on a web browser and see for yourself. They can’t help it.

In all honesty I don't think yours and minimus's banter is why the thread was locked down. It smelled of doom from the beginning I am rather surprised at minimus for even starting such a thread he of all posters should know better, and I know you understand that Dave.

I Snapped at a Witless Today

you know i'm not usually the type to do this, i really didn't even think i had it in me.

i was waiting for the bus, it was time for it to pull up, i was chatting with a co-worker and standing right in the middle of a whole bunch of other people, and here come two men in suits with briefcases, one looked to be in his 20s and one older, maybe late 30s or early 40s.

the younger one tries to hand me the magazines, the new way, by shoving them in your hand.

LOL Sherry I know what you mean about snapping! But good for you for speaking up I hope to be so bold next time myself.

I had an experience while walking through the airport this October on my way to baggage claim, mind you I'm tired already from my trip. These two JW's were standing holding the mags and I hadn't seen JW's for in what seemed forever so I made brief eye contact, my mistake!

Her mistake was she offered me the mags by putting them right in my pathway......I pushed them aside and said "NO I would never read that trash!" Really loud! I surprised myself but I wished later I had made a better reply and given her a good *coff*coff* anti-witness!

rubbing the stubble on the nape of your neck all day the day you get a haircut...

Waking up early on Saturday mornings and going for a walk with my brothers down the railroad tracks looking for hobo camps. Then putting two penny nails on the tracks waiting for the train so we could play war with our army men and our new swords.

Climbing my Grandma's walnut tree as high as I could get before she yelled at me to get down!

Playing statue maker with my cousins in Granny's backyard and hide-n-seek.

Family reunions in the park, roasting marshmallows, hot dogs, Bar-b-Que, and eating all the good home made food that my Aunts would slave for days to make and yum the ice cold watermelon! Playing endlessly with my cousins.

Skating, biking, card and board games that would last for days. Anyone have marathon Monopoly games?

Wrestling with my brother.

Our neighborhood war games those were fun times in the summer! Now days it might mean something entirely different!

Popsicles and the ice cream man.

Going barefoot down the creek behind our house. Swimming in the canals dodging water snakes, yikes!

Trips to the beach and camping at the beach.

Knowing a trip anywhere meant our entire family of 6 and several stragglers in a two door coup and no seat belts!

Listening to KRLA on my transistor radio low at night under the covers singing myself to sleep.

Cold foggy school days walking to school when you couldn't see your hand in front of your face.

Lunch in the cafeteria and recess! Dodge ball, tether ball, crossing bars and jump rope were my favorites.

also their loved ones and caregivers.. - has been fighting mantle cell lymphoma for three years.

he received an allogeneic cell transplant and his latest blood and bone marrow results have shown no trace of cancer!!

in a sense its my fault, i made her take a look in the loft to see what she wanted me to take down.

anyway while she was perched on top of the ladder, she slipped back and banged her head/neck/back.

she is ok, up, smiling and joking compared to before when things looked quite serious.

Did you ever have..One of Those Days?

the "water delivery pipe" burst on the well again..so..yesterday we dropped new heavy duty pipe 350ft below the ground..that took most of the day,but we were done before dark.....finally!..i can shower,flush the toilet and run the dishwasher!..no more paper plates on what seems an endless picnic!..lol!

!..so..i go to the power box and turn on the pump..we have running water!.......about 5 minutes later we notice water coming from the main floor,running down the wall and over a light switch....and..the water is frigg`n bright blue!!..wtf!..lol!

!..it`s the toilet over flowing..i`ve got bright blue toilet water all over the bathroom floor and pouring over a light switch in the basement!..this isn`t good..so,i turn the water off to the toilet..i`ll fix it later....it`s time for my workers to leave..i wander down the ranch driveway with a flashlight and the dog to open the ranch gate..i get the gate open and the truck and trailer pass through the gate..i figure the trailer is through the gate and let the gate swing shut.....bam!!

Awe sorry for your troubles OUTLAW, you however are made of some tough stuff and still have your great sense of humor........you kept us laughing all day yesterday even amidst your own worries! I would have never guessed you were having such a bad day of it.

Oh as far as one of those days.....I seem to be having one of those years! I can't wait for '08!

Flufftastic Queen + Paul Rodgers

just a little fluff, i'm waiting for my wife to go to bed to post my other topic o' the day.. i got home last night just in time to catch a special program on our local pbs station.

it was queen + paul rodgers.

for those not familiar with paul rodgers he was a member of free in the 60's and 70's, bad company in the 70's till 82 and then went on to the band the firm.

Did you mean John Decon? I was confused so I looked it up here is what Wikipedia says about John Deacon:

John Richard Deacon (born August 19, 1951, in Leicester, Leicestershire) is an English musician, best known as the bassist for the rock band Queen. Of the four members of the band, Deacon was the youngest, last to join, and wrote the fewest songs; however, several of his compositions were big hits, such as "You're My Best Friend", "Another One Bites the Dust" and "I Want to Break Free". He also played rhythm and acoustic guitars on several albums as well as occasional keyboards. He was also the only member not to sing.

Deacon retired from the music business in the late 1990s, and has chosen not to participate in the Queen + Paul Rodgers tour.

I had no idea he was the writer of some of my fave Queen songs.

I heard about the program but have yet to see it. I'll be checking my local listings to see if and when it will air I would love to see it. I've been a Queen fan for years and thought rock really lost a great one when Freddy Mercury died. Thanks for posting about it.
