Elders wont answer my questions

well i had written up 30 or so questions for the elders.

i made it very easy.

ther were mostly simple questions with yes or no answers.

I find this very intersting since I have recently also written a list of 30 questions that my wife asked for.She said she would get me the answers;that was about 6 weeks ago and still not one answer.When she did call an elder,about 400 miles away(guess she doesn't trust the locals) he couldn't give her any answers and then told if I didn't have the "truth" in my heart it didn't matter what they gave for an answer.I thought what a crock,what a way to just sidestep the real truth,it's easier to just chop the guy down than to answer the questions!

Anyways I'm not expecting too much.

How many married folks post here and your spouse does not know?

i got to thinking about this, and how many are here without telling anyone.. my active wife does not know i post here.

also, i have met some wonderful local people who are here, and you know who you are.. those who i met, i regard as friends, and very supportive.

given our backgrounds we understand each other.. is this a double life?

My wife doesn't know I post here but she check the history once and seen that I had been here.When she asked about it I said it was a jw discussion forum,that her step-mother told us about it a few years ago.Whewhhhhhh!She left it at that.

I haven't been visiting or posting as often since.

Ray Franz Wife

i can't thank ray franz enough for what he wrote and how he has affected people for the better.

while reading his books and seeing threads about him i have always wondered how his wife reacted when he started telling her about his doubts and trouble with the society.

how did she react when she had to leave bethel with him?

My feelings are the same as vitty's.

I've noticed also that Ray doesn't mention his wife much in his books but she was there at bethel when these things happened and she must love her husband more than she did the organization.I can't convince my wife that there is something wrong with the WTS,even the UN thing doesn't bother her!

I thought the bible said something about Paul being a tent-maker and earning money to support himself.Bet they don't quote that scripture when they ask for the "donation".And the loyal jw's just sit there and swallow it.What a scam!!!!

i'd have to say for me that it was ayn rand's the fountainhead.

even though i don't agree with a lot of her philosophy, it definitely made me stumble around in a thought-induced haze for a few weeks after reading it.

United Nations rules for NGO's the same for three decades

ok gang, have at this one.

any excuses the watchtower says about the rules for ngo's changing and "after that they couldn't go along with it" is bogus, as the un states it was not altered until 1996!

if the watchtower society had any (questions) what so ever as to what they were getting themselves into, they (could) have had (consultation) by a member of the united nations, if they had any doubts about the criteria, or the united nations membership as a whole!

Hi Randy,

This is very interesting.I've been thinking about this for a while now.If the WTS had nothing to hide they would have printed their version of events in their literature.To me their silence means GUILTY!!!!!

Anyways,last Friday I decided to tell my wife about this and showed her my printed copy from the UN's website.She immediately called her father who knew about it but just shrugged it off as basically nothing.He said they were just part of a UN directory for when people called in asking about the WTS.Yeah,OK!To me it's more like,double standards and breaking of neutrality.

Keep up the good work Randy;meanwhile I'm working on my wife,slowly and delicately.On friday after she saw the write-up and I wouldn't budge she cried for an hour and ended up at the hospital.The doctor wanted to keep her in for a few days but she ended up just taking 2 weeks off work.And no,she didn't tell the doctor why she was in such a bad emotional mood that day.It's a tough battle but I'm not giving up.

Need help finding specific WT articles

i'm looking for that article about the guy who went to a door with a beard and the lady was really put off by it and turned down the literature because of it.i believe it's in the '73 or '74 wt but i can't find it now.. also,not too long ago i read a wt article from the early 60's that specifically mentioned 10 hours of service.i believe blondie had put it in one of her posts.. if anyone can help me with these it would be greatly appreciated,i'm having discussions with my wife and her father about some wts rules that seem more like commandments of men that lack scriptural backing.mt 15:8-9. thank you.
