It would mean an enormous amount to me. No more walking on egg shells and being careful what i say-------------------and my daughter and her husband would be free !!!

It used to really annoy me when, reading the letters in the Awake, sometimes they would print a letter from an "expert" who had found a mistake in one of their articles. Instead of the usual thing mags do and apologize for said mistake, NO way, they would go into a lengthy explanation of how RIGHT they were If they cant bring themselves to give a simple apology for a simple unimportant mistake then in answer to your question it would have to be

A few questions for the Brits
by sir82 ini saw the movie "the queen" a few days ago, and was wondering how accurate the portrayals were of some of the things in the movie, such as:.
-- in at least one scene, tony blair is shown in the back seat of a car being driven down a highway, with his secretary at his side.
it appears that there is normal, regular traffic going down the road along with him.

The scene about the stag ...................to me , meant that she went to see the dead stag, was upset (cried), honoured it by visiting it and appreciated its beauty...........................it was the complete opposite reaction she gave to Diana.
but I like the monarchy, regardless......................it gives us British some class,dont it

unfortunatly, even though there was a interview with one of the now 18 year old son, nothing was mentioned in the report that she was a devout jw.....................shame on her.......................shame on the congregations she attended.
she is 62 now so she will a very old women when she gets out.

The JWs are so proud of their literature. they really think if someone read it they will see its the truth.
I would go down the road of how ridiculous and silly it is, how the scriptures are taken out of context. I remember the time I gave a family member a "revelation" book. I was convinced shed be impressed.
How wrong was I? She just handed me the book back ,shook her head with a small smile and said if you believe in that you are sillier than I thought. I was so embarrassed, I had no defence. That experience never left me. Now im not saying your SIL has to go that far but if she can call to attention that the book is riddled with bad reasoning, scripture hopping etc etc then maybe your mother would stop and think.

Jehovah is Grandfather, Jesus is Father ??
by NotaNess innot sure i'm in the right section of the forum, but i thought i'd go where a ton of posters hang out.. can some one clerify for me and give me some experience notes about this subject that i came across on the net.. have jw's studied on jehovah being the grandfather and jesus being the father?
if so, where does this come from.

I DIDNT KNOW YOU HAD TO CONFESS..................HONESTLY
by vitty ini was in the borg for 20 years and didnt realize you had to confess, until my daughter did a dirty deed.. she was hysterical one evening, after seeing her bf and told us that they had been doing a bit of fumbling and now her bf needed to confess to the elders!!!!!!!!!!.
i was really shocked, i asked if she was truly sorry and she said yes, did she think jehovah forgave our sins if we were really sorry.
she said this wasnt enough.

I was really shocked, I asked if she was truly sorry and she said yes, did she think Jehovah forgave our sins if we were really sorry. She said this wasnt enough. and went on to explain that present BF had done the same with a previous GF,then he had wanted to finish with her ( as it turned out this is what he wanted to do with my daughter) He confessed , the GF didnt ..................She got DFed for not confessing, he didnt.
Well panic set in and the next morning brÃght and early we had to call in the elders.................we didnt want to................she had a terrible meeting were she had to describe in detail what happened................she was 17 at the time..................this was our first experience of abuse, as it turned out her BF got the boot and my daughter didnt
I was relieved at the time but now wonder who was the lucky one....................as he is still out and she is still in
Was I niave not to know about this "confessing" thing or do most JWs who havent done anthing really wrong realize it
They always talked about how bad it was for the catholic priests to hear the confessions of the congregation, and so I never understood the reality. Which is infact much worse, as we all know.
