Did Rutherford have Russell liquidated?
by VM44 inread the following and think about it.
why the need for a coded message?
also, rutherford had been dismissed from bethel by russell just that year and was working as a lawyer for a department store in los angeles when russell conveniently just happened to die.

I'm not sure even the Governing Body knows the answer to that one yet.

Was Simplification the Downfall of the Watchtower?
by NotBlind ina thought i had daydreaming while at the recent convention .
old timers in the organization often reminisce about the way the wts was many years ago.
attending a convention meant (a) getting hot meals, (b) orchestra music before and during sessions, and (c) two, three, or even four dramas.

I don't think the Watchtower has scene it's downfall yet. They are far from dead. Even with all the losses they have endured they still have a very strong (brainwashed) core. Most of the active people who are dubs today never heard a piano play in the hall or sang out of a pink song book and they could care less if anyone feels bad about those losses.

While I don't identify myself as a Unitarian Universalist I have attended numerous times two different UU churches in my area and have been through their "intro" meetings. The people are generally well educated, open minded and quite fantastic. I am slow to join anything but when I get the urge to meet with others on a spiritual path, sing songs and feel like being part of something larger (besides when in nature) I visit one of these two churches. They keep a visitor name tag for me there. Two books you might read if you are interested in the UU approach to the Trancendental are: Finding Your Religion - when the faith you grew up with has lost it's meaning and A Chosen Faith - an introduction to Unitarian Universalism. Take care.

Are any of you familiar with it? I just received a copy of Thomas Jefferson's bible. Not his personal bible but the bible coined as the 'The Jefferson Bible'. Jefferson was a Deist and an enlightened founding father here in the United States. He viewed Jesus as a great philosopher who wrote an outstanding 'moral'. Jefferson cut out of the Gospels what he deemed to be worthwhile passages that did not go into all the supernatural (for example his bible ends with Jesus burial place having a stone rolled in front of it w/o the ressurection story) and pasted them into his own version. It is a thin, very thin copy of the four main gospels but I have to agree it is about all that is necessary to concentrate on.Are any of you familiar with it? A True Scholar In Our Midst, Leolaia
by Skoshi inher posts for a very long time were overflowing with an obvious scholarship.
i have avidly read her posts and have tucked away as much as my much smaller brain could be forced to take in.
i'm sure others have openly expressed their admiration and appreciation for her, but i would like to do so here.

Sure it's possible. The above sounds like how it went for me as well.
