when i was a still a teenage jw ( sounds like a bad b movie drive in flick ) i had a "worldly" boyfriend.
i didn't want anything to do with the jw's but knew i wasn't strong enough to just walk away.
he became the focus of my family's hatred and the reason they believed i left (nothing could have been farther from the truth) this helped me to avoid explantions of why i didn't believe.
The sad thing, the Mom (step mom) left the JW's not too long after. She was a gung ho Dub too. Dad left the state, he was pretty entrenched with all family in, don't know what happened to him. After all the pressure they put on her....even they couldn't take it in the end.
I think there are probably more of these type deaths than people would know. And I also think anyone looking into joining this group SHOULD know.

In our small town there was a high school girl, JW, dating a Non JW boy. The pressure got so bad that one school day she went into the girls' bathroom and killed herself. JW's, of course, blamed the relationship with the worldly boy for the sad event. Satan's work, no doubt.
I think of this little girl now and then, 15 years later.

okay here is the deal, i am new to ebay earlier this month i was on ebay and bid on some books.
i won the auction said that it would take a week for the books to get to me, after the acution ended i e-mailed the seller to send me an invoice so that i could pay him.
he got back to me the next day and i paid up.
I agree, file a complaint with Paypal. MUCH more effective, at this point! It will get his dumb*ss attention.

there is a "sister" and her daughter, that come to visit different ones at my place of business.
they usually come about 3 times a month, to read a scripture or a paragraph from a magazine, to a couple of people.
they then say hello to me, and leave after making their wt and awake placements.
I would get up from my desk and personally escort the JW to meet my supervisor/boss...and after a polite introduction, Directly tell my boss that Ms. so and so is here as a JW, spreading religious information. " I thought you might need to know about this" ...then, turn and walk away. They won't be back.

Well, if you are a smart man you will take the majority of these postings to heart. I read one place that you said it makes you depressed sometimes, all of this...religion....I GUARANTEE YOU that Depression will be a Big part of your daily life if you let your Girlfriend drag you into this.
You can say it is your choice, but it is obvious that you are afraid of losing her.
If GOD intended for this relationship, it will happen. I say, 2 years is a better length of time to go with anybody before making any major commitment, such as marriage. You have dated her one year, you said....and she is influencing you into a "marriage" INTO the JW belief system.
TAKE another year; put your foot down. NO, put TWO feet down and don't let her step on them. Take charge and tell her you need another year to look into it.....THEN, Run like Hell.
Sorry for the bluntness, but sometimes it is the best approach.

some people drink a certain beer because they really find that it's the best tasting beer on the market, while others drink what their friends or spouse drinks and see no difference, no matter what beer they drink.. when i first started drinking beer when i was in my teens, i drank what my parents had at home.
