  Naughty children

  i heared something the other day that made me sick.. apparentely its been brought out in a talk recently that children are becoming more and more imperfect due to us being right at the end of the system.. i was told that the witnesses are saying that this generation of kids being born have a natural bad streak that makes them so willfull and disobedient.. i don't know what they are saying should be done about it but i imagine they are probably encouraging harsher discipline.. the mind boggles!

  Those B8stards...labelling the kids now, huh? Instead of pointing the finger at the parents, who are spoiling them because so many parents don't have 2 feet to stand on firm ground and set rules, etc., they label the kids!

  I agree that our society seems to be encouraging young kids to have kids...with no training...no money...our wonderful welfare system takes care of all the babies having babies.

  But, once again, the Dysfunctional Mother of them all, the WTS, comes up with another label and uses it in order to get their numb-minded followers to nod, yes, yes, "this generation" is SO Bad. So, are they coming up with programs to help educate, teach these lost lambs? No, they just throw more threatening words about Armegeddon/ the Last Days, in their faces and try to scare some sense into them. Nothing changes with the WTS.

  Meg, I only hope others who are in the same situation read your post and see that they need to move on.

  Unfortunately, most nonJW's don't have a clue to the strange mindsets of those under the control of the

  WTS. Your post can save many a heartache; however, most of us have to learn by doing ourselves...and

  put it behind us. You are on the right path, I wish you only the best!

  i just joined here so i'm not completely familiar with the forum code.

  well, i'm going to be baptized in less than a month and i was wondering if i can find any friends among my peers or anyone around my age.

  Hi there and welcome! I am not, and never was, a JW. However, I came here to learn about what their teachings are from people who used to be. See, I like to investigate and look into things more than just accepting face value. I hope your uncle doesn't discourage you from visiting people here, you will learn a lot and gain a more rounded viewpoint than just one side. These people have been so helpful to me.

  Growing up is hard, especially the young teen years. Are your parents and/or siblings JW also? My daughter dated a young JW, which is one reason I came here.

  Yeah, what has happened to dress codes? I have walked out of dept stores wondering what the H8ll they are teaching these young girls who think they are a fashion statement? I'm talking about the clerks! Thongs showing through their tight hiphuggers...stretch marks showing with their baby fat roll..My mom was a retail clerk in the 60's and would die if she knew how they can wear anything and nothing today!

  The GOOD news....I just heard the 50's look is back, has anybody seen it? To me, this would be loose, high waisted roll up cuff jeans, button down shirttails, hanging out, bobby sox...what else? Guess it is time for the pendulum to swing the other way, I say...It's about time!

  no one to talk to

  i guess this is my introductory post.. like many of you, i was raised as a witness.. like many of you, i'm no longer associated with them.. it still hangs over me like a plague.

  it's really annoying.

  i haven't been to a meeting in 4 years, i'm "out of the closet" - my parents know i'm no longer interested, my oldest brother won't talk to me... etc.

  Welcome Jeeves. Sounds to me like you are taking a big step toward recovery! Cleaning out is a good process. I am not and never was a JW but have family and did have friends who were. I have learned so much here. I am sure you will, as well. I would encourage you to not shy away from therapy if you are considering it...that would be another big leap that you should not regret.

  dropped wife off at convention this morn...

  i just got back home from dropping my wife off at the convention this morning.

  i took the day off of work so i could celebrate the occasion of freedom from mass-delusional-cult-think-programming.

  out on the porch, sun shinning, birds chirping, scotch in one hand, demon haunted world in the other.. as i was driving my wife to the convention grounds, she thanked me for all the help i had provided her in getting ready for the convention, and for driving her.

  this is my first post and here's my story.. my father became a witness long ago and my mom remained a lutheran.

  our attendance was sporadic due to mom's opposition.

  they knew our mom was lutheran and that she kept us from attending many meetings.
