It was an emotional experience for me. The elders asked way too many personal/sexual questions. I was depressed and like a loser for a couple of years. I feel better now, though.

Governing Blunders Part II - Women and Cranial Capacity.
by hillary_step inpart i of governing blunders in which the wts used a quotation from an anonymous psychiatrist and the department on 'many authorities' attempting to prove that woman feel, while men think, and that the tow actions are mutually exclusive, reached this conclusion in part - "thus the supervision of women by men seems to be nature?s plan, however desperately women may fight it.
as we all know, it takes as little as this type of statement for groups of men with shiny pants and briefcases to begin herding their women like cattle, trying to convince them that cooking endless 'nutritious' meals really is fun, and that holding a microphone just so, is a real mans work.
i thought we would continue in like vein, reminding the reader once again that many of the writers and editors of the wt and awake are still writing atricles for these magazines as we speak.

This kind of garbage makes my blood boil.
I wonder what the Governing Body would have to say about the following discrepancy with regard to women's brains:
Prior to graduation last year, I was chosen for the Vocational Technology Award in Industrial Manufacturing Technology. I graduated with a 4.0 when I received my Associate Degree (last year). This program is male-dominated; I was the only female in the program at the time.
I have since entered a new program: Engineering. I have a lot of schooling to go through, and it is more difficult and challenging than the previous program. My boss, who is a Professional Engineer where I hold my internship, assures me often, "Robin, you wait. Ten years from now you will own your own firm!" I'm amazed at what a professional person in the field tells me, compared to the Pants within the Organization.
I still wonder if it was the years of degration by the Organization that led me to pursue a male-dominated field to begin with. How dare they try to mold me in a form "fitting" to women. Hmmmphhhhhh!

Cool pictures, Englishman!
I visited Haworth, Ripon and Harrogate when I went to England with my sister. We toured Bronte Parsonage. We traveled all over Yorkshire. We visited Thirsk and Richmond, too. York was a cool city as well.
Anyone there James Herriott fans here?
We came back to the States as "tea snobs", drinking Yorkshire tea.
Now, here we are, back in the flat land of Illinios....

Please don't dispair, Obviously Secret. You may feel shy, but you appear to have exceptional communications skills by the way you write and respond to peoples' posts. Part of your shyness may be distrust toward people or lacking self-esteem. It's not an uncommon feeling, and it doesn't nessarily disappear later on in life. Sad, but true. I didn't start coming out of my "shell" until I made up my mind I was the only one who could do it for me. It takes courage and patience, because not everyone will like it or appreciate it. "SO WHAT" I finally have to say.
Don't get me wrong, there are still days I cry about this. It doesn't help that I'm a very sensitive person and very aware of people's reaction toward me. Sometimes I can brush it off, sometimes I can't.
Hang in there, OS! Share with us, we will listen.

I was quite lonely as a youth in my congregation. I was terribly shy. Also, it seemed the more "popular" youth looked down on me because my dad wasn't in "the truth" and their dads were elders, or what have you. It wasn't my imagination, because I saw this in three different congretations. As much as I didn't want to admit it then, "Christian" youth are called that by name only. The reality is, most are not that different from "wordly".
When I married a Ministerial Servant, my shyness did not disappear. If anything, it came back due to being in a new family, new town, new congregation...I was constantly told by my husband to "be more like his sister"...or "why can't you just go up to people and start a conversation?".....or "what's wrong with you that you don't act like those friendly pioneer sisters?"
........eeeeeerrrrrrrrrr....it still upsets me now when I think back.....

Turn away from these wicked ways!
by Proud Witness inwell as you would have guessed from my name, i am a proud witness and i feel obliged to preach to you about the promises that our wonderful creator, jehovah god, has promised each and every one of us, of any race or background.
i know that you already know what he has told us through his word, but i am curious to wonder why you have chosen to jump off the narrow road which leads to everlasting life.
is it because you have had a bad experience in god's organization?
