Which men / lads here cry when listening to music / watching films?

you know how some of us guys have to put on a bit of an act sometimes, we have to set our faces into our coping scowl, but underneath, we're too well aware of just how soft we are?

well.. what music to the big guys here only, not you wimpy bunch, brings a tear to your eye or which films is it that you need to keep a box of tissues handy by you to wipe away the dampness in your eye?.

for celtic it's a track by dido - white flag and also black eyed peas - where is the love?

i cry at everything. seriously. but i think disney movies get me the worst. dumbo. the circle of life part of lion king. 'god help the outcasts' from hunchback, leading to my original nickname here.

hubby is very sweet soul and lots of things touch his heart...but i think the movie that got him the most was titanic. because, he said, jack and rose reminded him of me and him when we met.

gets me choked up just thinking of it now!!

hugs to all you wonderful, sensitive men...believe me, your wives love you for it!

JW Conventions now accept Mastercard, Visa etc

i don't know if this has already been posted??.

according to the uk may kingdom ministry, there will now be facilities in place to accept donations by credit cards and debit cards at all english language conventions.

as far as i am aware this is the first time that this happened in the uk, although it have have been introduced in other countries at an earlier time.. i suppose that the gb are hoping that the dubs will be so overwhelmed by the "whole convention experience" that they will get themselves into debt, paying money they don't have into the society coffers.. i am also sure that at every break, an announcement will be made explaining exactly where these credit card machine facilities will be.. also another first, next to each contribution box will be a big wad of the gift aid forms, so the wt will get an additional 22% on top paid for by the goverment.

JW stabs husband; he refuses blood

the australian jw couple were married only 10 days prior in bali, but on saturday something went awry.

a dispute arose between the two and she stabbed him in the back and arm.

in critical condition and in need of blood, he refused.

i know it drives me mad to hear my mother say that the end is 'just around the corner'. that's the longest corner in the history of mankind! she's been believing it for more than 55 years :(

so glad i got out, and that there is hope that my child will never believe the lies that have stolen years of people's lives. sometimes, entire lifespans.

it seems millenia ago that homosexuals dared not declare that fact about them out loud for fear of being imprisoned, beaten to death or at least ostracized by society.

true, some are still ostracized, some are still beaten but more and more they are simply becoming a part of the social fabric of families, communities and society as a whole.. was it just 1969 that a handful of drag queens decided enough was enough and refused to meekly be led off to jail for the night simply for socializing with each other in a bar in new york city.

i was 11 years old when that happened and was just beginning to understand that i myself was a homosexual.

you know, i'm all for disney metephors. i used to use them all the time myself. but methinks in this case that the hyenas are the judicial committees who let all these atrocities go on in the congregation. they just look at the PO and say "Right, Ed?" and ed slobbers and nods.

Are You Contaminated?

i've been giving lots of thought to this life we have right now.

the choices we make.

the people that affect us and those that we touch in some way.. many "here" seem to be kind of stuck.

such good points. i felt stuck for a long time, and i had to get away from the forums completely to finish dealing with the internal business that i had been avoiding.

true, it was a bad experience running into some jw's one day when i was out that sent me back here after almost a year's hiatus. but i am so different now. when i re-read some of the things i used to write and post here, they seem as if they were written by a different person.

i have grown, and grown-up so much since the first time i visited an exjw forum four+ years ago. and i have a lot of people to thank for that. most of all i should thank the ones who were hard on me, who pushed me to really see myself. even if i still hold different opinions from them now, they gave me a crash course in Human Nature 101 that i couldn't have gotten any other way.

so i am thankful, and i hope that i can offer some encouragement to others now that i'm not stuck anymore.
