  Disassociation experiences please

  hi everyone.. i would love to collate the experiences of those who decided to disassociate.

  the reason i am asking this question is that i have been in turmoil for a very long time as to whether i remain a fader or whether to bring closure on my membership with the watchtower organisation.. it is for this reason i would like to read about some of the experiences of those on this forum who went down the route of disassociation.

  if could answer the following.

  While losing your family isn't ideal, they are toxic and many that decry disassociating as "playing their game" are playing all kinds of games to keep that toxic family. Also, shunning as a JW is a super difficult thing to do. It's one of the things that helped wake me up, having to shun my brother. What if some of you are unwittingly playing their game by A. not taking a stand and B. not forcing your loved ones to do something that might actually force them to wake up in time?

  What would the impact be if all the faders disassociated and all of those families had to face the ugly realities of their cult instead of people passively accepting and condoning their garbage?

  I did disassociate and will give my answers later when I get home.

  Sorry man, if only our parents were good people just because they gave birth to us. Sadly that's not the case. You've put up with a lot, and often a person in your situation ends up as a codependent. You have better things to take care of like yourself, your wife, and that little girl. Sometimes you have to let go. Sorry you've been through so much and got so little in return.

  For those Genuinely Concerned about Press Freedom

  our illustrious leader, justin trudeau, has just announced a half a $billion fund that will be given out to "trustworthy" news sources.. of course this will have nothing todo with the fact that there will be a federal election next year and there are plenty of bad things to highlight in the liberals record.

  they will obviously dole the money out in a totally impartial manner, even handing funding to reporters that are critical of them and trudeau.

  "trustworthy" news sources won't just be a euphemism for "writes positive stories about me, avoids negative ones".

  Anyone Tried "Sous Vide" Cooking?

  i like a nice steak but cooking one can be a little intimidating and the results hit and miss especially when it comes to getting the right temperature so getting it wrong can be an expensive mistake.

  can anyone do that "finger and thumb together to check the doneness" thing?

  i can't .... so i came across this cooking technique called "sous vide" which cooks food (in a sealed vacuum bag) in a warm water bath, even steak.

  Bumping this thread because Amazon has the Anova models on sale today. Just picked up the Nano for $65 to try this out. The $200 model is on sale for $100 as well.

  Mine is my wife and I about 10 months after disassociating, sitting in a car full of birthday balloons. We were in front of the place we rented to throw her a big first birthday party, about to go in and decorate. We were also waiting for the person with a key to come unlock the place so we took a pic or three while waiting. We had a great time, most importantly she had a great time, and we had about 70 people show up.

  A big shout out to the NHS

  last week i suffered two heart attacks, first one occurred while i was at home, phoned for an ambulance which promptly arrived and whisked me off too hospital, docs decided i needed a stent and during the angioplasty i had a massive heart attack according to the doc that did it.

  i was unaware as i was out.

  but what i want to say is what an amazing organisation the nhs is.

  alright, so what is the deal with the thousands coming to the states right at election time seeking asylum?

  i'm not up on this, usually try not to be, but how can this not be manipulative?

  it's either manipulative in the size of the group and pressure that creates, or in where it started or who started this, etc.

  Yep, the people of Tijuana aren't happy to have this drain on their local system. I saw an article too. It talked about how they're fleeing violence about at the same rate of Detroit or another major city (can't remember) and how this is clearly simply an economic driver for them.

  I also saw quotes in another article where some are talking of hopping the fence en masse and overwhelming the border patrols. That sounds kind of invade-y to me. One guy jumped it and then went back to show he could. Sounds kind of entitled to me. The whole thing just seems odd.

  for those of you who are now atheist or non-christian, how did you come to this decision?

  i hadn't given this much thought until about a year ago.

  just got done watching this program and what impress me the most was the bravery of those x-witnesses to sit there on national tv and tell everyone how the wt.

  cult affected them.

  no hidden faces, no avatar names and no disguise.
