I don't get the hate toward this poster. Am I missing something? Why can't this person be female, even if seen as predatory? Wasn't she talking about predatory brothers in other threads? Now she's not even female? Something took a turn and maybe I missed it.

WT rules about forgiving a cheating spouse
by Addison0998 indoes anyone else think it’s weird and controlling the organization says if your mate commits adultry, and then you have sex with them, you are not free to remarry again, since this means you forgave them.
the bible never mentions anything about this.
it’s so weird they have a say about what goes on behind closed doors of two people who are still legally married.

Dating as a Jehovahs witness has made me PIMO

Sounds like the congregation I grew up in, only with a beach. Jehovah's Witnesses are sex crazed paranoid maniacs that need a hobby. Their style of dating results in horrible relationships and ruined lives. Chaperones, the foremost consideration of a person's meeting attendance as evidence of a suitable lifelong partner, etc. It's all so stupid and only serves the cult.
Congrats on becoming MO!

JWs on campus
by Sarabethy init's my first time on this site though i am no stranger in the ex-jw community.
i come to you now asking for your assistance in what to present to the dean of students at my university.. why am i meeting with dean of students, you may ask?
because today, while innocently finishing an assignment in the school library, i happened to look out the window and see the jws with their stupid little cart.

Just stand out there and preach TTATT and they'll probably leave on their own. Record them. Ask questions. They're cowards.
Pisses me off every time I see a cart. The shaking while approaching is probably some result of the ptsd many leave with. I get it too sometimes. Just so many feelings that it's overwhelming internally even though I'm totally rational. The mind and body can have two different experiences at the same time.

We are giving too much power to the watchtower
by sinboi ini am just 17. many of you here are much older than me.. i do feel that offering advice here is like teaching my father how to fuck.
but seriously, i do see the problem here.
we are focusing more on the problem than the solution.. i have been reading mind power books for quite some time.

Sinboi - Is it really true that we will be the loser in this fight???
Look, according to delusional cult members if life goes well it's because Satan and if life goes poorly it's because Satan. You can't win a fight against delusional people. If that alone doesn't show them that they're just making this up as they go along to fit a narrative that supports what they already feel, not much you or I can do.
Our fight isn't with them. Our fight is our own, our own life, figuring that out without them, living for ourselves. They are playing their game, and we play ours. Different games altogether. I don't care what individual members do, including my family members. I do care that the organization itself be exposed so that it doesn't hurt more people.

Hey man, I don't think anyone is offended, and although naive (which we all were), you're so far ahead of where most of us were at 17. You have a good outlook and you're not wrong about the need to work on ourselves and to be positive and find happiness. Keep it up and you'll have a great life!

Lol Slow Burn, no worries on being creepy. I think many of us had similar experiences and left with similar views. Creep on man (or lady), feel free to reach out anytime. :)

Why do you think the people here are leading bad lives? Most of us are very happy. You can be happy and still wish to get your family out of the cult, or wish to tear it down. The cult does have power. It ripped away years from us and experiences that impacts people even after they leave. It controls our families. Those are not happy things. What we can do is rise above, not let those things dominate our lives, but you have to acknowledge both sides. It doesn't mean that we aren't happy. You have to give the past its due though. This is where we do. This is where we process it and show it for what it is. We find happiness even through that.

non jehovah witness dinner
by whatisthis12 inso almost two weeks ago, my boyfriend(who was disfellowshiped) went to the memorial.
he hasn’t spoken to his parents, friends, or siblings for over a year because of it.
the only person he keeps in contact with is his grandma, which is who he went along with.

I'm with you sir82. If by this point she doesn't get it then there's nothing we can do. She doesn't seem to participate much in her threads. Kind of a hit and run poster.
We aren't translators for toxicity. If she keeps playing this game she gets what she gets and we can't help.
How are we supposed to know their individual motives?

Incite Better Handling of Complaints
by The Fall Guy inever feel as if companies or their telephone complaint handlers couldn't care less about your problem?
i don't know if it's just me, but in recent times i seem to have had more than my fair share of companies/tradesmen who acted with contempt.. admittedly, many of them are given a really hard time by extremely irate customers, but each customer should be treated as an individual.. i have found that i receive a more focussed & attentive response when i inform the person on the other end of the line that i am recording the call for my personal reference & security.
from that point on, i generally receive their full attention and achieve a satisfactory outcome for my complaint.

I can't speak to what you're doing in recording them, though it sounds interesting and I can definitely see why it would work. You're putting them on the spot, you're different so you have their attention, etc.
As to customer service I agree with you that many just don't care. The ones that do really stand out. I ordered food at a restaurant recently and the lady kept interrupting me and getting things wrong. In the end she got yet another thing wrong and when I explained that I wanted something else she got defensive and nasty. At first I tried to take the blame but when she got nasty I just up and left. In that case I had options. Often when dealing with customer service on the phone you can't just leave. So I like this idea.

Yes Mark, start a "New Topic" and introduce yourself rather than replying this way to other people's discussions. You'll get more interest that way.
