my wife's parents are in a bad way.
she went to visit and her mother has alzheimer and father has a hart condition.
they are jws and he quit his job at gm many years ago for 1975. he moved to where the need was great to wait for the end.

Are they asking for help? Are they working toward better things? I will help someone that asks, but of course I'll teach them how to fish rather than giving them one. Otherwise, they get to live their lives as poorly as they want. Not your problem my friend, nor your wife's.

Watchtower pushes many to suicide. I was close once. I knew of at least three others, probably more if I think about it. They just take and take and the only ways out involve losing everything you've ever known because they isolated you. It's much like any abusive relationship, only multiplied in size and influence.

I heard either a summary of it or someone talking about it on a podcast and it sounded interesting. A friend who was never a JW read and liked it. I have no clue why you think someone that was never a JW wouldn't be helped by it though. There are more issues in life than just ours.
If you want it, buy it. It's $15. If you get just one nugget that impacts your life positively then it's a heck of a lot cheaper than a therapist.
it has been several months now, since i learned ttat and the shock and grief is slowly lifting, although some days are harder than others.
after 40 years a devout believer i guess i should not be surprised that the transition has been challenging and the losses immense, and i am sure very many of you can relate to my struggles.
i frequently read the posts on here and my heart goes out to all of you, who grieve and struggle each in your own way, and i wish all of you continued courage and peace.

at first glance, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the invitation but on closer look a disturbing detail becomes apparent.it is in the upper right corner of the illustration of jesus christ celebrating the last supper with his disciples in the upper room...there seem to be trees outside the window but on closer inspection, all thanks to the pdf format of the invitation that allows you a very close look down to the fine detail, these are not trees but letters!!!.

JT and Lady Cee interviewed Mrs. Taylor, the lady that stood up in the KH after the tragedy. At the end she says that Lauren was pretty much POMI and that she was becoming more and more obsessed about the end times. She started saying that people should listen to her, that she had holy spirit, etc. It got so bad that Mrs. Taylor couldn't stand being around her for long, and they had been great friends. She couldn't elaborate on the details of the suicide note but pretty much said that Lauren believed she was saving her family by killing them, that they would be resurrected. So it sounds like she broke at some point after shunning. Very sad.
