I think that you will find that many people feel the same way that weren't JW's. I hear it a lot from people of all backgrounds...so I don't think it's all that unusual to hear it said on this forum. We all have baggage from our childhoods, religion, etc...we just have to face up to, accept responsibility for, and change ourselves for the better. (I went to a therapist for about 3 years in my 30's---can you tell???) A person has to find out why they are feeling the way they are and then seek ways to change those feelings. It may require a lot of effort, but it's well worth it in the long run.
I had issues with low self-esteem and realized that it was pounded into our heads at the meetings at every opportunity. I soon learned techniques that enabled me to turn these remarks into positives for myself. I hadn't realized how much harm listening and BELIEVING some person's warped interpretation of scriptures had done to me. It was such a relief to get that monkey off my back!!!

When I first heard about this, I went back and researched the Awake magazines and compared the '90's to the 80's...big eye-opener. They changed the format of the magazines and devoted about the first 8-10 pages to U.N. related issues...not even quoting scriptures. I remember thinking it odd at the time, but forgetting about it as no one knew at the time what was was going on. You could easily pull some volumns out for comparison.

Scully, I know exactly what you mean, it's fascinating! I don't know why but this year I've seen a lot of the moths. Here's a Tulip Tree Moth that I found on my door one evening when I returned home. Her wing was a little torn and so I took her inside where she decided that my finger could be useful:
I couldn't pry her off and those eggs were stuck on with super glue!!! I think that has to be a once in a lifetime experience!

Conclusion: WTS is doomed. I know the vast majority will not up and leave, but they certainly can't have
many generations to come of growth.Totally agree...It's pretty much the same around here. None of my JW relatives ever talk about anything "spiritual." There really isn't anything to talk about except the new rules of the WTS. I think everyone is getting fed up and tired of the same old hype.

I watched a program recently on the History Channel where it pointed out that "thousands" of people have sighted UFO's. Some sightings have been by thousands of people seeing the same object at the same time. There are many very credible/knowledgeable people who have reported seeing a UFO. It amazes me that so many people can just write this off merely because THEY haven't seen one. Swalker
