Dont put it in print!!!!
by anglise inthis is clever.. everyone thinks the society are becoming more open as far as education is concerned.. we have had a few articles in recent years which even go as far as encouraging youngsters to get trained, got to college and acquire useful job skills for the future.
then these are the magazines that the public also read and then think that the jw's maybe arent so weird after all.. but then go to this years dc's and we get the following;.

Just a female thing?
by anglise insince drifting from the org over the last year or so i have been slowly updating my clothes.
i thought maybe it was just me who had been dressing like a middle aged matron since i was 23 but whilst talking to a young xsister recently i learnt that she too has thrown out most of the clothes she used to wear whilst a dub.. has anyone else found themselves doing this, and is it just a female thing?

WHATS GOING ON?
by anglise inin the last 24 hours i have heard of two instances where the jw parents of disfellowshipped children have been willing and seemingly happy to have association with them ie having them visit and for meals.
both say that there were topics to be avoided during conversation but that it was a major improvement on the way things had been.. in both of these situations the adult children are married to non believers.. is this just a coincidence?.
has there been 'new light'?.

My first time
by anglise indo you remember your first meeting?.
the first meeting i ever went to was a thursday night and they where going through the school guide book for the instruction talk.. i just couldnt believe that they spent 20 min with question and answers at the end on how to write a letter, but being new i thought that somewhere there must have been something deeper and spiritual and i had missed it.. unfortunately it didnt stop me going back for another 20 years.. do you remember your first time?

DO THE GB HAVE A CONSCIENCE?
by anglise inas you read of all the "flip-flops" and the cover ups and even blatent lies that the gb has published throughout the years doesnt it make you wonder how they can do it.. if they really believe there is an all powerful being whom they represent how can they actively be so misleading and dishonest in full knowledge that he sees and knows what they are doing.. "9 for, as regards jehovah, his eyes are roving about through all the earth to show his strength in behalf of those whose heart is complete toward him.
you have acted foolishly respecting this, for from now on there will exist wars against you.

The Internet Saves
by anglise inreplying to a thread lower down made me wonder how did those who left the org years ago cope.. today we have access to virtually all the information in the world via the internet, so its not hard to find others who have had the same experiences that you have and to learn from them.. but even just a few years ago this was almost impossible.. when we came into the org in the early 1980's we did reseach as far as we were able but didnt find much in our local library.. so we were caught!!!.
those leaving the org back then must have felt isolated and even more frustrated then we do today.. i can remember being told about protesters outside conventions etc and that you musnt read their placards or take their tracts, but obviously it was the only way they had to try and help those inside the org see the real truth.. surely the thought of such an isolated existence kept many from taking the final steps to freeing themselves.. can any here relate to that.. .
