None really, if you feel that being shunned is a mark of true friend.

How many "real friends" did you have in your congregation?
by JH inmost congregations have about 80 to 120 people.
out of that, how many could you consider being a "real friends"?
personally, not one of them was a "real friend".

The Bible Students as a Healthy Alternative
by jgnat in.
for some exiting jw's, they are "true believers" as far as some of the key doctrines of the wtbts are concerned, but they feel trapped in an organization that seems far removed from its original principles.. do you think the bible students are a relatively healthy alternative to the wts machine?.

Yes I do thus far anyway, that is if they don't condon shunning, let me know if they do. I went to the web site it sounds good to me, if I can find more about it, about shunning and Christmas (Christmas I love) then I will go to their convention.

Would Jesus shun anyone?
by JH ini can't imagine jesus shunning anyone.
on the contrary, he went towards those who needed help the most.
if the jw's followed jesus footsteps, they wouldn't shun.

dicovering this forum...
by Blue_Shadow ini dont know how i came across this forum but when i came to it i was so shocked of all the things being mentioned about the org.
i became doubtful of the recent decision i had made ( the big dip, which i kinda felt pressure to do but that's another story) also hearing about how jw are a cult really opened my interest.
so now that im openly informed ,im out in search of the truth behind the truth.

Why do you listion to, and let these dweebs you don't even know or don't have the right to for that matter, tell you what you should or should not do?
I have always found that hard to understand in myself or others, who are or was witness's to have a religion "publishing company" brain wash you with out becomeing pissed off.

Touching very touching, what a lucky man to have had you be near him. It is not often to see a women treat a man like that, in my exsperence anyway.
I flat lined many times after a head injury, I did not see god or anything like that, but its not just like turning off the lights, there is more mercy to it than that.

Disfellowshipping Is A Way To Show Jehovah Loves You..........
by minimus inthat comment has been made a number of times.
since jehovah loves those he disciplines, short of stoning one, this is god's way of saying, i love you"......stupid, huh?

The idea of someone having to set in the back of hall is so stupid I can't belive it, I am suprized they don't make the DF'ed one wear a coned hat with a blinking blue light on the tip.
I told them to eat shit when they informed me I had sit in the back of the hall when I sat at the front. I will never let some religion treat me like that again and then tell me its gods loving way. (Vomit)

"Equilibrium" the movie is an example of the WTBTS
by PinTail inthere is a movie called "equilibrium" this movie is a prototype of being a jehovah's witness, in it there is a hierarchy that is a ruthless goverment and the spiritual source for all thought till a hero comes and awakens them.
this is a must see movie for all witness's.
i don't know, it just made me think of the witness's during all the time i was watching it.

I never thought of that aspect of seeing the movie with family members and friends. The movie is a subtle but profound way of making them think, I will
definitely purchase the movie to add to my collection. Thanks for the idea. I wonder where I can find a place it to buy it, cause it came out in 1992 I think? Shane -

Why do we expexct Jehovah to be nice to people?
by Gill inwho said god had to be nice to anyone?
i was just reading gumby's thread on 'a big old lie' he'd found in the bible.. as far as i got reading, folks were discussing jehovah killing everyone most of the time and i suppose threatening to do again in the future, according to the wtbts.
but why do we expect god to be nice to people?
