  hello again, forum members.... well, as many of you have suggested, i?ve been reading, and reading, and reading... i?ve even purchased the book several of you recommended, "crisis of conscience.

  " it should be delivered next week.

  some of your stories are absolutely heart-wrenching.

  Welcome to the forum. I respect the fact that you have such insight in our matters, and yet with so few posts. It shows you are intersted in these matters, and yet let the ones who have been throught it, speak and heal.

  As was stated above, it's truly subtle. And as LadyLee mentioned, it could perhaps be due to circumstances. I also was an adult, I was 22. I was simple fearful of death! I had a mixed upbringing of different faiths, and had what I thought was wrongful information. So at 22, my temporary answer was the WT. What they then said sounded appealing. And I went with it.

  But there comes a period in everyones lives, where you come to realize that you have other insights. And so you start pondering and questioning about things. And this is where I am now at. It has been a turning point in my life, but there is no going back. It was a stepping stone to come to other realizations. Based on life's experience.

  A letter to my parents... tell me what you think.

  Just had lunch with Jst2laws and Joyzabel

  steve and joy were just in the area, and we hooked up for lunch.

  they are the best people, and we had a great time visiting.. they are on the road again, though still having troubles with some of their tires.

  they are headed west and we mentioned that they should see drwtsn.

  1995 no big deal??

  when i discovered - only recently - the the masthead of the awake was changed in 1995 to eliminate "our creators promise" i found it apalling.

  it was a promise people!!

  i am curious, did the wtbts write articles or discuss this radical change or did they just slip it in?

  A QUESTION FOR (EX) ELDERS

  did you take it easy, judicially speaking, on those with congregation responsiblities?

  were you extremely slow to remove anyone because no one wanted the additional work caused by a servant's absence?

  i know of some pretty crappy, ok, really crappy and unscriptural things done by ms's and elders that definitely called for removal, but the elders quickly swept it under the rug.

  My thing is why did you elders ever remove anyone?

  Removing and disfellowshipping are two different things. I was never for disfellowshipping. But we had some elders, that were not elder material. Their counsel to others was more harmful than any being an aid to those in need. Some just never learned, and were in it for the glory.

  I never took it 'easy', in the sense of being lazy. But I was thourough with my research, as well as investigations. There was a lot of responsibility that went with being an elder. Lives were at stake, and so many issues and sides had to be discovered.

  I was never hasty, but yet I was firm in handeling things correctly. Even if it was borderline with the WT. I wanted to be fair, kind, loving and just. (wow memories)
