by seven006 ini never thought i would do one of those infamous goodbye i cant take this board anymore posts where the person shows up again a week later and looks like an idiot.
when i had enough of this board and needed a little break i would just quietly leave for a few months and hopefully nobody noticed.
that is not the case this time.

wavey: you were my welcoming committee at JWD with just the right mix of surly sarcasm and wry wit that enticed me to hang around and get to know folks. Our correspondence helped me work through a load of leftover JW shit that I didn't realize was still clogging my arteries. I rarely post here these days, but when I do breeze through I watch for you ... always a guaranteed guffaw or internal hell yeah when I read your comments. For instance, last time I was here I read your comment about your son listing you as his hero on my space.com. I carefully prepared one of my extremely entertaining PMs to you, commenting on how MY son had listed ME as his hero on his myspace.com page ... and how we musta done SUMPN right in spite of the freakin cult ... but for some reason (I suspect Simon has an underground campaign to derail Macintosh users LOL) it went to JWD PM heaven with all traces eliminated. ANYWAY. wavey: ok, cent .01: IMO, it does evoke dark sentiments but the picture itself isn't exactly "dark" to me ... so it communicates an expression of darkness ... definitely get the programmed element with what you have depicted. Aspects of the face are lifelike to me but not the eyes...I'd get and feel more emotion if the the figure was more realistic vs. somewhat robotic in nature. cent .02: I think using graphic / computer art as your medium vs. paint or other "messy" art allows you to maintain an impersonal distance from your art....and perhaps your exploration. You could possibly connect more by using media that is more tactile in nature ... whether oils etc. that you more closely feel and connect with your senses including smell, touch etc. You might have a more visceral reaction. Could it be your computer is a wall between you and the emotion of your art? a sort of shield that restricts a breakthrough to more personal expression .... big hugs. dr. kim
